Ghosts of WW2

Post by xl_target » Sat Oct 20, 2012 6:22 am

An interesting article published by UK's Daily Mail.
Images from WW2 superimposed on photos taken today (in the same location), should remind us of the cost, horror and futility of War.
It is interesting to see how much and how little has changed from those days.

The images can be viewed HERE

Warning! There are a couple of semi-graphic images. If you are really squeamish, don't click on the link

Xl,

I look at it differently. That the sacrifice was not futile.Looking at those places today,I would say that it was worth it.The men and women who gave so much, did it for a noble cause.Liberty is something that is precious enough for a country to rightly call upon its citizens to give up everything for the cause. That war put an end to this

Very nice link XL, thanks for sharing. War is a horrible thing to happen, second world war with one man's quest for world domination or one nations insatibale thirst for oil ( read as search for WMD, freedom yada yada).

It's scary even in the movies, remember the Normandy Landings in Saving Private Ryan...
