Hi,
I have recently purchased Commander mark-I 5.5 airpistol. I just wanted to ask if there is any problem if I carry it with me while travelling in metro and also train? I have searched a lot on the internet but have not got any definite answer.
Also would carrying a bill along would help.

Re: Carrying Air Pistol In Metro
In Delhi Metro - I don't think so. Last week I had specifically asked the security officer in Chandni Chowk's Metro station if a sports rifle can be carried or not if I declare it along with papers but he flatly refused.
In the second instance, the gun dealer in Chandni Chowk, Pt. Narsingh Dass & Sons, himself told me never to board a metro with air guns or pistols. Any gun shaped object in metal is not allowed, he said.
BTW, its because of this reason that I didn't buy an air gun last week. I didn't have the time or inclination to make a long trip by a DTC bus after buying the air rifle of my choice. However I'll try the bus route this weekend.

Re: Carrying Air Pistol In Metro
Dear mkgw4pu,
Why do you wish to carry an air pistol with you? Forget about the Metro rules for a while.
You can carry it in a concealed case if you practice shooting at ay rifle club. But no one uses Commander mark-I 5.5 air pistol at clubs. So the question still remains, why!
Thanks,
AT.

Re: Carrying Air Pistol In Metro
Because you can... It's about freedom... I am not advocating carrying it to intimidate some one or scare bad guys.. That's just asking for big trouble.. But why should one be restricted from carrying a licensed firearm or an airgun/ pistol which is anyway not lethal and requires no license?
I dont dial 911... I dial .357

Re: Carrying Air Pistol In Metro
indian air pistol is a big big waste.(you'll find out soon)
don't carry this pistol for self protection.
if metro rules donot allow guns then don't.catch a bus.(i doubt there are rules against carrying airguns.it is those ignorant arrogant bapus who make this stupid rules.they donot know the difference between an airgun and a firearm)
if you want to practice, your garage will do,you need not go to a rifle club.your pistol max range is 10 meters.
