I've had 2 gamo air rifles. Gamo Big Cat in .177 and a Gamo Hunter 440 in .22, both were very reliable and efficient airguns.
you can check this for more info on Gamo airguns.

Re: gamo air rifle experiance
I had a .22 cal BSA Comet (rebadged Gamo Shadow) for some months before I gave it to a cousin of mine. IMHO they are cheap for a reason and you really do get exactly what you pay for!
Decent accuracy & decent looking, but trigger and smoothness doesn't compare to a Weihrauch or AirArms springer - of course those are much more expensive as well. Way too much use of plastic, the foresight blade was plastic with a sweet fibre optic insert - but it tends to get damaged rather easily, my cousin has already broken it twice but since he is using a scope isn't likely to bother replacing it any time soon. Rear sight also has a lot of plastic used, even the barrel chisel detent looks like it is made of some sort of polymer (doesn't bode well over the long term).
I did like the light weight synthetic stock though. This was a UK purchase and IIRC it was pushing out 11-11.5 ft/ lbs using JSB Exacts & H&N FTT's.
Conclusion, if you can afford to then buy something better, if you can't - it isn't a bad buy but don't expect too much.
Cheers!
