WIP Eskabar Mod. Yes its that knife again

My BK14, Polished, patina-ed (use not force), re-handled and convex-ed.
Polished with 320 to 1500 grit and then used mostly in the kitchen for a cpl weeks.
Same set of grits to convex and then black emery and green buffer on a strop (also handmade )
Found some very hard wood the provenance of which remains unknown but was a b**ch to work with.
The only power tool used in this entire mod was a drill to make the holes in the scales. They are carved with my Scamp and sanded and polished up to 1200 grit. Fastened with (and this is my fav part) aluminium bolts and Araldite. After which I sawed them off and sanded down with the scales. The fiber liners were made with the strips the wifey uses to wax. Superglued and pressed 3 layers for each side. Cut thick leather into the lil circle and the triangle in the handles and glued them in along with the scales.

NEed to polish it back up to mirror finish and force a reasonable patina on it.

I tried convexing and it gets sharp but snaggy. Might go back to the V edge on it and practice convexing on something else for a bit.
The Patina is lemon juice and vinegar with a few q-tips.

The handle's very nicely done as well, you should have contoured it a bit. Is it comfortable to hold..

Actually it is very comfortable. The edges were causing some hot spots but I bevelled them out on a mousepad and sandpaper. The pommel part is contoured a little bit to fit my palm but that's it. I got to a point where it felt right in my hand and stopped. Fits like it was made for my hand now....which it was

The patina is 3 coats.
1st Lemon juice and vinegar in about 3:7 ratio for the "tiger stripes" applied with an earbud/Q-tip. Waited 5 minutes for each side and wiped.
2nd Same mix, earbud again to make dots. Wipe after 5 mins for each side.
3rd Vinegar soaked the whole thing for 25mins to grey it out.

Making a sheath now for it and my LED flashlight. RS. 80 at Crawford and I shine it on my car from 10 floors up and can see inside the car. Ridiculous for 80 bucks plus the cost of a AA Duracell. Chinese knock-off of a Fenix or something probably but Rs. 80 v/s v/s 10 times that for the cheapest Maglite LED............

Beautifully done, the handle. However you could have retained the lanyard hole, lined with a small copper tube (AC pipe). A small lanyard or fob helps a stable grip when holding the knife.
