the diagnosis is done...
Having lost confidence in your usual trigger pull, you kept on jerking all through. So it was more due to a mechanical error which affected your whole system of functioning. Please take good note of the following and act accordingly. Also planning to meet the good Doc tomorrow to learn lesson or two on trigger unit - darn thing failed at WC when it had tested OK the day before and to get "OK" in time from invisible officials was sheer wastage of time and efforts. Had got it tightened by the guru but then on my own tightened it further "to play safe" and then the problems began. Could never quite get a hand on first pull (which had disappeared) and the trigger break.
- Never adjust your trigger pull weight barely around 500g (like 520/530g). Why? With temperature difference, the weight may vary. In hot weather, the weight will increase, in cold it will decrease.
- As a beginner, I will suggest everyone to keep the trigger weight nearing 600g.That way, there is no fear of the AP not passing the test. Test failure means confidence broken to pieces. In our level, a heavy trigger weight does not affect the precision in any way if we do our trigger work well.
- Keep the distribution of weight around 350g for 1st stage and 200 to 250g in the 2nd stage. The 2nd stage should be well perciptible to the finger. Keep the 2nd stage weight slightly less than the 1st stage. Never go for a 450g/150g or less for example. Why? If the 2nd stage weight is very light, you will always be very afraid of squeezing the trigger fearing that the shot will go off anytime. When it is perciptble, your confidence grows because you know that you will have to do some work with effort to let the shot break.
My AP has never failed any test till now, be it +40°C in India or 8°C in France (inside a range in Feb'12 because the heating system failed and the outside temp was -9°C), only because it has a heavy weight. I train with the same weight always and at least I can always eliminate one tension from my head.
Your phone kept on ringing yesterday evening. May be you were all out for the festival. Will try today again.
Enjoy!

By the way, what does WC mean? World Cup or World Championship? I am still poor in abbreviations
