Got the Fox River this afternoon but have been too busy to open the package until now. Pics will follow tomorrow but for now all I can say is that it does not fit my hand as well as the Classic Drop Point Hunter or Canadian Special. Perhaps I will get used to it.

I have barely held it, so I am not going to post any opinions barring the above.

Not trying to be a tease but I have been busy and under the weather.

Its the name of a small fixed blade made by Bark River Knife and Tools.

I feel so stupid at times when you guys talk about these new folders and fixed blades..

Doesn't make a difference if you do not know the name of a knife. I would say you know a lot more about knives than the average person. Your interest in this topic and presence in this section is good enough!

I like it's clean simple lines and the full convex grind.

It is not utterly-butterly-comfortable for all holds for my hand but it's not uncomfortable either. The grips on the Canadian Special and Classic Drop Point Hunter are more comfortable for me. The Canadian Special being the best for me. Unfortunately, mine is sold but I am sure I will soon get used to the Fox River.

The drop at plunge line isn't sufficient enough to make a very safe self guard. This would make the North Star an even more risky knife to use in the wet. Rajat please take note.

For a knife this size, I think I would have prefered the balance to be a little forward of what it is now. It currently balances at approximately 1/2" behind the front Corby bolt.

All in all, I like it but would have been happier if there was a little more grip (1/4" to 1/2") for a more relaxed hold.

This little knife took me by surprise and I was pleased as Punch until I compared it to the ESEE Candiru. Simply put, the Candiru is smaller and yet has better ergonomics. Well done ESEE! However, it (Candiru) does not come with a convex grind from the factory. Mine is partially convexed though.



I would love to see a .125" thick or even lesser blade on the Little Creek instead of the .145" thick blade it comes with. The Candiru has a .125" thick blade.


Once sheathed, the Candiru and Little Creek are almost exactly the same length and will take up the same space in one's pocket if that is how one intends to carry them.

Since Photobucket is working now, I have edited my earlier post and added a few more pics as well.

If you are still considering a small fixed blade that will be in your pocket or on your belt at all times, the Little Creek and Candiru are worth considering. If you are okay with a slightly bigger knife, I would recommend the Mini Fox River. I pocket carry it at times and do not find it uncomfortable.

Thanks Rajat... you will be surprised to know that till internet came into our lives I was under the impression that Victorinox was the last name in multiple blade utility knives, Case made the best gentleman's folders, Buck was authority on fixed blade hunters, skinners etc and Randall was king of fighters
