Modifying UTA AK 300

Post by Rijo Joseph » Fri Sep 10, 2010 6:19 pm

Hi Friends,

Require your valuable inputs for modifying my UTA AK300 .22 which i brought almost 4 years back. I am planning to change my springs as it crossed more than 1000+ pellets and still accurate at 40- 50 mts and capable of taking crows etc. What is the best springs available for this model in India or abroad, any particular specification regarding length or gauge of spring etc and best washers available for this model, frankly i don't know the size of the washer used in this model. and if i have missed some thing really required my attention to increase performance is also welcomed :D

Please suggest.

Difficult for anyone to comment without knowing the specs. In case someone who is familiar with the model and make doesn't come along, you might have to open her up and put up the measurements and snaps yourself for people to be able to suggest appropriate replacement parts.

Hi,
I found the size of the spring it is 35mm barrel fit (in the cover of the spring it is mentioned as 35mm) and in washer size it was not mentioned...

Rijo,

Springs generally last waaay more than 1000 shots. If you have lost power the seal could be damaged - which can happen only of the chamber itself is scored or highly abrasive. I recommend get the gun opened up and only then will you know the condition and what you need to do.

What is special in AK 300 model is it more powerful than any model 35. If so why a licence is not required under arms act ?

Girish- no license required for air guns.It is legal to hunt rats and crows. They are classified as vermin.
I would rather hit my target gently than miss hard.

Hai Rijo contact to thekkan armory in cochin. I change the spring of my ak 300 from there the spring is powerful and if we fit more powerful indian maid spring the vibration is more and that will effect accuracy.

diana cost more than rs 2000 which s of no use .it cannot fit indian air rifles nd it may break inside the chamber after some shots.it s made to work in long barrels.i changed my ak 300 spring from t jacob armoury i cost me around rs 250 for spring nd overall of rs 500 including new washer bush service etc
