Thanks for the replies guys. Now it may seem i am being cheap and stubborn but i just blew my savings on a screwdriver set to help with knife maintenance.  .Hence the 20 buck limit.

Mark- That is the very one.The groves are not the problem, it's the scales. It looks impressive but it's slippery if my hand is not sweaty.I think that very fine copper wire used in electrical coils might do the job, but i don't see how wiring up the grooves will help. Can you explain this? ( I am not being sarcastic ).

Rajat, cmon mate, as i mentioned, it slipped from my hand while practicing deployment.Nearly speared my foot     .So am very cautious about further practice.

Moin- The grips are quite thin, but very solid.I think filing the scales might diminish the available grip, and drilling, soldering might diminish the structural integrity.I need to make the smooth plastic rougher or put something on it.I think i shall experiment with a thin layer of tape.

I am studying many styles of martial art.Or shall i say will begin shortly.I am facing an issue with the deployment of my folder.I wonder if it should be discussed here or i should start a new thread.
I would rather hit my target gently than miss hard.

Skyman,

Are the scales on your knife made from a hard material, or are they rubbery or soft?

From the description, seems rubbery soft.

Mark- The scales are hard, like a plastic dinner plate. They are also as smooth. They are not very pronounced either.

Skyman, none of the suggestions seem to work for you. Fast, Good, Cheap...you can have only 2 of the three at any point in time. If the solution is fast & good...it wont be cheap (get an original cold steel Recon 1...its so grippy that it will shred your denim pocket in 5 days). If its fast & cheap...it wont be good. And if its Cheap & Good...brother...it usually, wont be Fast. If you seek (cheap & good & FAST)...just get a better grip, deployment technique or just open the blade carefully. However if this doesnt work for you, then get wooden or other material scales made for you. Moin, Rajat and many other enthusiasts in the forum would be able to help you. I personally believe that Rs. 20 is much less than the cost of a severed toe.

+1. Folks with so less budgets should stay clear from knives -- poor quality is a recipe for disaster. Sage advice - start saving some amount per month, and you'll be able to get a good quality folder in an year. There is nothing worse than having a poor quality knife.
