Hi MIROFLEX
The supply of 2012 model IOF 30-06 rifle is expected to be supplied to the arms dealers [ who are eligible for purchase during the current year and have deposited the money with the rifle factory] by end of September 2012.

I don't own this magazine, just saw it in a gun house. It has just began to appear in the market, we will be able to know about it's quality after some time, when it becomes more common.

I think we were going out of the context when we gave an example of "the biggest Indian Gimmick of all " ha ha ha

I own a Thunderbird! yeah the so called new model with all those mechanical flaws just like the old one, lets not give examples of a company whose every bike after 1955 is a failure, i have been to ladakh on it this year and mine is standing in my garage and i am working in Gurgaon....

SO MR! if you talk about guns i will listen to you but when someone talks about Royal enfiled they should start listening to me......Thanks!

Since a Chennai based factory started to manufacture its nothing but overpriced piece of internal combustion engine with a weak chassis and incomplete fuel injection system.......

Bottom-line ---- "Royal enfiled Motorcycles were never made like a gun and they never go like a BULLET" Lets not mix guns with Motorcycles P-E-R-I-O-D
It's time to burn in HELL!!!!!!!

Hi HKS,

I thought now that September 2012 is over, I would check up whether the 2012 model is with the dealers.

I'm working on a disassembly/reassembly tutorial on the IOF. Will post it up here once its done.
Hi Guys,

Any updates on the tutorial?

It would be too good to have a separate section on our forum for tutorials on stripping and reassembling some common rifles.

Vivek

Dear MIROFLEX
Sorry for being late in my reply. 2012 production 30-06 is available now in Meerut market. You can check up on the number i gave you earlier. According to the Dealer there is no perceptible difference in 2011 and 2012 model.
Regards

Any chance you've had a chance to do this? I was planning to strip open my recently purchased IOF soon and before I come running all panicked and lost to you for help I thought I'd make a proactive request! Thanks.

SS

AB, I've gone through the online versions. Just wanted to be sure there are no surprises.

A few questions:
1. The trouble aside of putting the bolt back together, did you actually find any rust or gunk inside? Is it sufficient to leave it in diesel/kerosene for a day and spray with WD40 and be done with?
2. Is Hoppe's no. 9 recommended for cleaning the chorme barrels of the IOF? There's much discussion but couldn't find a conclusion. I already got Hoppe's and now wondering if I should be using it.
3. You were mounting a peep sight on your rifle- are you doing in on the 11mm dovetail?
