Sure you can shoot a compound bow canted but you would need to change the sight settings. I did say 'sighted compound bow' if you recall. Are you shooting without sights? By the time you have adjusted and confirmed the windage and elevation, the the non-sighted stickbow shooter would have got a quiver full of arrows away. However let me inform that a compound bow can be fired at a clockwise cant and even an anti clockwise cant which probably a stick bow cannot manage since the arrow will drop in case of latter. All you need to do is install a whisker biscuit arrow rest to get that job done.
A stickbow can be shot anti-clockwise (for right hand shooter) and horizontal at that without a Whisker Biscuit or anything else for that matter. You merely roll the string a little as you begin your draw and it torques the shaft to the shelf, thereby not succumbing to gravity. See the Schulz video and you'll understand.
Bear in mind that this is not a pi55ing match, as that devil's advocate Shankar would like it to be, about which type of bow is better. I am merely pointing out the strengths and failings of each type.
Is archery popular in Gujarat? Are archery events held regularly and do you have photos and videos of such gatherings? I'd be very interested in seeing the local archery tackle and their way of shooting.I remember one I came across at least 10 years ago at a local Archery event in Rajpipla. He was best amongst at least 50 or so archers assembled there and his drawing fingers had almost deformed because of muscle growth from repeated drawing.
