First Air Gun Purchase .22 Caliber
Hello, I would like to purchase an Air Rifle with the following specifications.
.22 Caliber
Break Barrel Mechanism
Range: 40-80 Meter
Under Rs. 10,000
I have a few questions about the purchase.
1) Could you please recommend the best Air Rifle for pest control (For Edited: You need to be careful with what you write. There is already an active attempt to ban air guns with this very pretext-Moderator, Rodents and other Vermins)
1) Is a license required for the purchase of this gun ?
2) What is the velocity(FPS) on this model ?
3) Which Brand does this model belong to ?
4) Is it possible to attach Scopes for these Air Rifles ?
5) Cost of the recommended gun
Sorry for bombarding the forum with all these questions on the first post.
Kindly Reply,
Thanks
Mathew

Welcome to IFG.
Please do not mind me saying this. This forum is awash with discussions and information on this topic as it has been discussed countless times so far. There is a search function and it would return a lot of useful info.
40-80 meters? 40 metres is right at the edge of the capabilities of most, best of them, air rifles.
With 10K budget, you are not going to get that kind of performance,AFAIK. Most can be fitted with scopes which is an additional investment.
I would suggest to go through info on this forum and learn as much as you can before you invest a large sum of money.
Before anything else, please make yourself aware of the legal usages involved.
They do not require license, yet. But, efforts are afoot by the antis to make it so. One of the reasons cited is that they are used to shoot birds and small animals indiscriminately. Again, learn by reading the posts on this topic.
BTW, Please do post an introduction in the appropriate section as it is expected that our new friends introduce themselves to the fraternity first.
Best-
Vikram

Thank you for your quick reply.
Nation Air Arms (offers .22 Air rifles with 40-80 Meter range but Im not sure if I should take their website product gallery seriously.
I'd prefer to import an Air gun from pyramydair ( www.pyramydair.com ) any day but I've been advised that customs may create complications because I don't have a license and I'm not a part of any shooting club. I wouldn't mind importing a .177 Caliber rifle if customs wouldn't have any other issues.
What do you recommend me to do for my first Air Rifle purchase.

They can say what they want. They are the best in India. But, that do not make them better than other options that can be had. If you want to import, there is a sticky thread. Please go through it, and you get all your answers there.

Ur question has already being answered , If u r looking for a Good air rifle go for a IHP 35 .22
Its not the best but better than other brands available in india.
or just wait for few days and buy a newly innovated air rifle (said to be accurate and nice finish) when its available for sale . just read about it
