i meant a .45 to the belly of a groper in a crowded bus.WHo can verify there was any danger? You do understand what happens at point blank with a .45 yes? The fellow will bleed to death, and people will think it was murder.
I am aware of the above circumstances where shooting is allowed.
I agree, shooting him to make him bleed will get you trouble, and in India, nobody will care(
No four letter words on this board,please.-Moderator) about what the guy did. Plus, in a crowded bus, you might hurt an innocent.
Its better to keep a sharp edged keychain like the Mantis B1 or something..

O.K. Folks,
I request you all to keep the thread on topic.
Anyone who suggests discharging a firearm in a crowded bus at an undetermined culprit is being irresponsible.Shooting a groper IMHO cannot be defended in any court under most circumstances. Also there is the chance of the bullet passing through one person and hurting others.
The topic is about what can be used to defend against groping.
Cheers.
Best-
Vikram

Best defense would be for people to bring up their sons to respect women. How many mothers devote any time to this,I wonder ?

Women can do defense with below:
1 - Big nails.
2 - Good pepper spray.
3 - Having sharp edge tools like screw driver, pins, knives, etc.
4 - if have confidence on target shooting - can have good pistol.
Thanks

Exactly.I suggest people actually stand in a crowded bus, then consider options like pepper spray and guns.
I would rather hit my target gently than miss hard.

1.There is no requirement for a graduated response.
2.There is no requirement for the response to be proportionate to the threat. As long as there is a reasonable fear that the threat may eventually lead to a danger to ones own life.
3.There is no requirement to back down.
And there is no requirement to actually shoot in most cases. Merely flashing the gun out will squeeze the balls of the attacker. Though I don't know if this flashing is a good idea for every scenario.
And I agree, pepper spray is not suited a crowded bus. I wanted to include it in the list as a good deterrent otherwise.

Speaking of squeezing the balls, how about a kick in the nuts?

Just pursued the thread where the brave Gurkha fought off 30 men.Words cannot do justice to the man's feat.
However, note how the public watched when that girl was about to be molested.I would have expected the men to rush the robbers or at least yell. But they did nothing. Not that i blame them.
Not meaning to drag this discussion, but any thoughts on how to deal with such incidents? IT is relevant now that we know ( or at least I ) action taken by one man can have a great impact on the morale of criminals.SO what action on our part can bring hostilities to an end in such a terrifying scenario? I see this is a big problem in our country.
