Status Update | Pyramid Air | Pellet Import

Post by gverma » Sun May 20, 2012 1:47 am

Hi
This week I had imported around 10 tins of RWS from pyramid air.
I am glad to tell that the said goods arived in good condition to me.

The payment was made to Pyramid via amazon as they do not accept international credit cards.

When the goods arrived in India someone from FedEx called me and asked me for the documents (he did not know what documents one would need).

I was not sure too so I sent the scanned copies of following

1. My State rifle association Card
2. National Rifle association Card
3. My Registered Shooter certificate
4. Copies of custom notifications which allow one to import pellets freely

Next day the said goods arrived.

This means more practice and not waiting for tins.

One of the issues is that the cost of shipping is almost as much as the cost of tins. I would have to figure out a better way to get them.

So go ahead import and have fun.

Regards
Gaurav

You have to pay duty if you are not a registered member of a shooting club.

Otherwise it is free as per custom delcaration.

I did not pay a cent in duty

brother, as per the rules if you are not a member of any rifle club or association then you cannot import air pistols or pellets. im a member of rifle association. sometimes it depends on the custom officers, they can do whatever they wish to do.

bro, I think it is free for NRAI, as you are a member of two rifle associations they may have exempted you from custom duty

@gladiator but all registered association are under NRAI only..how can they deny from free import?

I dont know, this is what I have received from FedEx
" Dear Sir,

This is to inform you that pallets are dutiable item & approx duty would be INR 2000/-.

Request you to provide duty approval for the same."

Did you send a copy of custom notification? probably the officer was not aware of notification.

And I ask others, can the duty be exempted if the officer is told about such notification now?

I have received my pellets and I did not pay any custom duty, so importing pellets are duty free
