whats left in ifg

dear mods i have been a regular visitor of this site for the past 2=3 years and would like to comment about this site if u allow this thread to be viewed......................................whats left on this page......i mean to say only a couple of guys who like to share and BOAST about their possessions....nothing new and interesting..what was the need to stop the FOR SALE section..at least one visited this site for knowing the transactions or the offering prices..now the only interest left is NOTHING..as weapons are already rare in indian senario, with the for sale section atleast the general public was able to get the taste of the OLD THINGS..i mean to say the weapons for sale...it was never mentioned on the web page that a person seeing the for sale section had to compulsorily buy all the stuff seen..Its is my own opinion and belief that the sale section would not have been stopped from assesibility of general public....this site has become boring now......

I would beg to differ with you regarding the content of what's posted on IFG, sir, but I can accept that this is a matter of personal taste and opinion.

I had a look at your postings and contributions here at IFG, and I noticed that you seemed to like Prashant Singh's narration of his man-eater leopard hunt. I am sorry to hear that you apparently have changed your mind on this matter, although personally, I did not see too much in his posting that could be characterized as boasting about his possessions.

Anyway, we certainly appreciate your contributions to IFG, and how they make it a more interesting site.

At least you seem to enjoy using the "beating the dead horse" emoticon, so that's some enjoyment you derive from visiting here, right?

lots actually, of all the forums i have come across, i have stayed with IFG, lots of things going on, locally and otherwise.

met some good chaps, and some not so good ones. a clean site with common interest. lots of info etc helpful members i have met on and off the forum.

as for the sales section? well i am a seller and have sold things and it was getting pretty dirty with some sellers/buyers , a little cleaning up was need and it was done. now not much stuff one sees but its clean. if that the reason ones joins a forum is to buy things etc then flee bay should be visited. as the sell section is only a tiny part of the forum and not a major part.

what we get out of these forum is what we put into it.

when i first joined i made few mistakes in posting etc and the mods put me right on that, no offence was taken by me. as if one is a part of a community then one needs to follow the rules, some rules are not liked and some liked. that is part and parcel of the forum. so share and enjoy

Hi Guys,

IFG is like facebook for me, & you all like my family. If you see there are small tits and bits added by me, I feel that it is my contribution.

It is a common place for us to meet and share, though we have great gurus here but some are explorers in thier own right and some seek information and get benefitted.

I am here from past 2 years, almost and the forum has benefitted me a lot in terms of knowledge and insights of the same old thing in a better way.

To be honest, the same thought came across in my mind a few days ago, I was thinking why not mods start merchandise on this site, like T Shirts, mugs, and customised stuff like caps etc and I can offer help.

But I now feel it is ok the way it is, a common place for us to meet.......

It is only our contribution/s that make this place happening and interesting so guys lets do more research and contribute and also enrich each other with our experiences....

As Prashant says, we would love to read the accounts of your interests, especially horses. One way of making IFG more interesting is by actively contributing to the content.Original posts that touch a common core with all of us.Why not give it a try. I am very sure that you have a lot to offer.

BTW, the Sales section is not closed.It is by application only and to ensure that those who contribute and has the ability to read and understand the rules can sell here instead of scam artists.It is as simple as that. All one needs is contribute qualitatively and apply as suggested.Some people apply but it is very clear that they have not read the rules at all.

No need to apologize, as I took no offense to your comments. My reaction to them was that they did not pertain to what we are about here at IFG, because our mission is somewhat different than achieving personal satisfaction and fulfillment for our members.

We do often derive a lot of satisfaction by interacting here (or, at least, I do, and I am supposing others do, as well), but our mission here is not what we get, it is what we give. My perception is that your objections were "get oriented," and my remarks were based on that perception.

Here, we are in a sort of war -- a war for legal gun rights for law abiding citizens. Advocacy for RKBA is our purpose here, which is stated often and in many ways. What is written here is read by many people, including those who oppose our goal and by those who may be unsure about how they feel toward RKBA in India. It is not that I oppose people airing grievances openly on the forums (even though I do expect that reasonable people who are "heading our way" will seek a moderate, constructive way of putting their suggestions and even demands forward), but I will always tend to examine the posts of others with the expectation that what they say is either positive or neutral toward RKBA.

Surely, having good discussions about all sorts of things is a healthy way to demonstrate that we gun owners are reasonable people that Mr and Mrs Ordinary Citizen wouldn't mind living next to, even knowing that we had a gun or guns in our house. If we come across as factional and immoderate in the language of our postings, is it not reasonable to expect that Mr and Mrs Ordinary Citizen wouldn't trust us living next door to them with a gun?

Please remember, we can howl at the moon all we want until the rabbit goes deaf about our "rights," but until we can convince a majority of people in the democracy that they have nothing to worry about regarding RKBA, we are just fooling ourselves that we are accomplishing anything toward actual achievement of RKBA.

So, my challenge to myself first, and then to others here at IFG, is always: Am I being positive about gun ownership? Do I demonstrate the sort of person Mr and Mrs Ordinary Citizen want to live next door to, knowing I own a gun?

It is not my purpose to offend you at all, however I do think that my reasons for challenging your original post are now clear.

I would prefer to reset our interactions in this thread and go forward together as fellow aficionados of firearms!

Didnt know that you were fond of horses till Prashant pointed it out. Heck now thats interesting brother. I have been an active contributor to this site (or so I lead myself to believe) but since the last six months I have been so busy that I cannot get back to my original rhythm, But I'll be damned if I donts slip in now and then to take a peek at whats going on. Just cant stay switched off completely mate .
I sincerely hope that you will one day change your mind and perhaps slip in a few interesting notes on your experience with horses.
