Re: Ihp mod 25 .177 air rifle
Dear Kazim,
I have been using one IHP National -25 in 0.177 since last two
years. This rifle gives immense shooting pleasure due to its
soft cocking effort. It came in a very rude state. I had to tune
it thrice to set it perfect. I used spring ,piston seal and lube
from Target Tune India. It can take pencil cell at 10 mtrs off
hand.To my mind a well tuned National- 25 is good enough
to start to join in competitive shooting. As you grow , then
you can always look for better brands.

Basu, would a springer give the required output in a tournament?
As far as I hv read here, springers are not competition-reliable..

> For a starter as Basu has recommended IHP25 in 0.177 cal is ideal for the following reasons:varunik wrote:Basu, would a springer give the required output in a tournament?
As far as I hv read here, springers are not competition-reliable..
1. It's a compact weapon & well balanced
2. It has adequete power as a springer to be used in competitions since the target is only "10 Metres"
3. The price is affordable as compared to PCPs which cost Rs.1.25lacs upwards!
4. As a beginner a good springer is ideal to get used to shooting in competitions - the hold / the stance / breathing / actual shooting etc.
5. All said and done - The IHP25 in 0.177 cal needs "TUNING" to make it worthy of a good performance - which require:
a) A good spring
b) A good rear guide & top hat
c) A good polished piston
d) A good synthetic seal & adaptor
e) A smooth trigger adjustment
f) A good lubing treatment
> Ofcourse to do all these you need the services of a Good Gunsmith!
> Remember the mysteries of an Air Rifle are many - It requires a good undersatanding of basic physics & finesse of mechanical engineering & loads of patience + love for the sport.
Happy Shooting

dear kazim, you are lucky enough to make such groupings just out of the box.As Briha suggests and me too,a proper tuning will tighten the grouping even more.do enjoy shooting. Basu
