Diana Model 35 Barrel Exchange

hi guys,
back with a new post. as i earlier posted i have a diana 35 .22 cal air rifle. http://indiansforguns.com/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=17305 . the barrel of the gun is bent upwards. Its a result of firing/discharge of the rifle while the barrel still in cocked postion. as fpsrussia pointed out it can be repaired easily. but i dont wont to do it neither i know someone who can. the main reason for this new post is following:-
1. Can the barrel of Diana 35 .22 cal be replaced with a barrel of IHP 35 .22 cal air rifle.
2. If so will the accuracy be suffer badly or will it be ok.
3. I plan to mount a scope on the rifle. What will be the accuracy with a IHP 35 barrel and scope.

For the rest of the replacement parts i contacted mr.kulkarni. he is mail me the price list.

Need help in the above barrel replacement problem. if someone can give me tutorial with pictures and what new parts do i need for the barrel replacement it will be a great help.

Keep your cool and no need for extreme measures.....The fix to your problem is simple and it is given in detail here by my Guruji......

I have an even simple procedure to fix the problem.

All you need to do is cock the Diana and cock a little harder and further holding your cocking hand towards the muzzle as much as possible and voila the barrel will straighten to its original straight position and no further.

Problem solved........

i tried to straighten the barrel according to your guideline. It worked, the barrel is as straight as new.
Now only need to check the accuracy. dont know how that will pan out.
please do suggest some pellets, regular and competition grade, for my airgun. just to remind u guys its chambered in .22/5.5mm cal.

The barrel now is as straight as it originally was. So do not worry about accuracy. I am not into .22 so cannot give you any detailed advice on choice of pellets but can tell you positively that lightweight pellets work best in the Diana 35.

Indian make, try Gsmith or mastershot, imported ones, try JSB, H&N and RWS. Use pellets which give you the best accuracy and groups. Stay away from the really cheap ones....

i somehow can't beleive that a diana has a bent barrel.kindly check with the person who sold you the gun whether he had similiar problem.i had a diana 35 for more than 20yrs with no problem.
i feel this barrel is prone to bend again.if you can straighten with your hand,it can bend that easily.best will be to find a good diana barrel,which is going to be difficult.do some good search who know's,you might find one.

AFAIK any break barrel air-rifle's barrel can bend with mistreatment... Diana's are no exception to this. They are well built, but no "super air-rifle" immune to all forms of mistreatment/ bad maintenance.

Anyone who owns an air-rifle, or for that matter any firearm should familiarise himself/ herself with the correct handling & maintenance requirement of said item. No different than any piece of machinery - for e.g. like owning a car, which has to be serviced every x number of KM's and will last longer if driven & maintained properly. If you don't maintain your airguns/ firearms & handle them properly, don't be shocked if they fail when you need them most (irrespective of their brand/ make)!
