How do I know I am a member of nagri?

How do I know I am a member of nagri?

Post by Bhargav » Wed Apr 18, 2012 1:22 pm

I had sent my membership application to nagri around a month back but have not received any acknowledgement from them. Do they send you a membership card or any document that says you are now a proud member?

I already contacted them via email 2 weeks back but didn't receive any response.

Has anybody received anything from them?

Thanks

Hi,

The Nagri membership card and other documents are being worked upon. Your name and address will be entered into the membership list. So far no badges or cards are being sent as everything has been free so far.
Also it is a purely voluntary organization and things take a while to get done.

Well I agree, then we should have a small FAQ section on the website which addresses these small small questions. That way the person knows the big picture.

Thanks for the info though.

@ renjith747 - To be honest, I have absolutely no clue as to what fee will be finally decided or when it will come into effect - this is the prerogative of the NAGRI governing body. I can merely give you information to which I am privy, not speculate on things I do not know. However, I can say this with confidence - whenever a fee structure is decided upon, it will be done with the intent of creating an "inclusive" organisation and NOT an "exclusive" one.

@ marksman - you are not alone, no one has been sent any confirmation/ membership card yet. The reasons for this are many and I won't get into it here.

However, everyone please rest assured that your membership form has been received and duly processed (unless returned as undelivered by courier). All applications are considered as accepted unless the applicant is informed otherwise. Membership numbers & confirmations will be issued once some (paperwork related) hurdles have been crossed.

How soon will this happen? To answer that question, I shall point the incumbent Secretary General to this thread and let him answer that question directly.

Yes it is frustrating for those who have applied but not received any acknowledgement, but please bear with your friends - they really are doing the best they can with very limited resources at their disposal. The only thing that keeps them going is their belief in the cause and your faith in them... lets not deprive them of that essential fuel!

Cheers!

Sirs,
I am making some efforts to spread words about NAGRI. Trying to get as many members as possible.
I am planning a visit shortly to Delhi can I submit all these applications by hand. I don't want to loose my efforts to some courier company.

Regards.

Hi Abhijeet,

I agree, NAGRI is our organization and we will build it step by step.

Just from a "user" perspective, the immediate feeling that I get is:
1) The website information is stagnant (front page) and this gives me a feeling that its abandoned or nothing is going on.
2) The website is bit rigid, meaning, there is no autonomous thing to it. A person visiting the website does not know how to get his small questions answered. I have seen many websites which have a FAQ kind of thing and that is very helpful. Poeple who do not find their answers in the FAQ can then send a message out to the admin or the contact person.

Some FAQs that come to my mind are:

FAQs:
Q1) Is the NAGRI membership free?
Ans: Currently the NAGRI membership is free but its subject to change, please send in your application and stay tuned for any changes.
Q2) Do I get a membership card or documentation that proves that I am a member ?
Ans: Currently the membership cards are being worked upon, we will keep your membership on record and as soon as we decide on the proof of membership - it will be sent to you.
Q3) Can NAGRI help me get my gun license ?
Ans: No. But we can point you to the right direction on how to get a license. Please read on www.indiansforguns.com.
Q4) Is NAGRI a gun range or a gun club?
Ans: No. Its an organization that fights for RKBA and promotes shooting sports.
Q5) How can I become a member of NAGRI?
Ans: Print out the application form available on the website and send it to the postal address mentioned on the application form.
Q6) Can I scan the application form and send it via email?
Ans: <I am not sure on this one yet>

These are some of the FAQ points that come to my mind. Pls feel free to add more to it and then may be Abhijeet can compile then and send it to NAGRI instead of any of us sending it via email.

Thanks.

Great stuff Bhargav.
I think most of the faqs make sense and could be incorporated.

Thanks,

Dev

as for the limited resources, though i cant be physically be present there, I would like to make a small contribution. Maybe nagri should have a paypal or similar system so people can contribute.
