What is the difference between.......?
Hi friends,
what is the difference between a silhouette air pistol and a match air pistol ?
I do understand that the first one is made/suitable for silhouette targets and second one is for paper target ISSF style.
But is there any difference interms of make, sights, trigger, power, accuracy etc. ?
Can a silhouette air pistol be used in ISSF style match and vice versa ?
Regards.

There could be a difference of sights and scopes and could be different actions and may be distance - Haji

Its accuracy silhouette air pistol may not be very accurate and you just need to hit the target
Match air pistols are super accurate and are used to hit the bulls eye every time.
With a bit of luck you can use an IHP for silhouette and may be even win a game however for a good old ISSF match you need a great pistol like Morini or Styer...

I never asked or want to discuss IHP here,
So as per this logic, why not use super accurate match air pistol in silhouette compitition and win all the matches.
Dear, Thanks for your advice I do have good olympic grade AP in my collection.

Re: What is the difference between.......?
Because the match pistols are super accurate. if I am playing a match I would want to use the best pistol available.
Also I may be playing more than one event, so I would like to own only one air pistol because that way it is not expensive and I do not need to tune two pistols and get used to them.

Thanks dileep,
Good to know this, well I don't understand their logic about MSRP of greater than $275 US. They must be having some sense for it.
On a lighter note.
Thank God this logic is not applied in India
Other wise in football......... it will be a no goal if scored one and wearing a shoe over Rs. 500.
In cricket.......... no runs for you if your bat is over Rs. 1000.
In swimming ......... you are disqualified if your trunks are more than Rs. 75.
