My Compound Bow Testing
This is not an expert review. I just tested out a few Bow’s from different price range, as I am planning to pick one in a month or so. Please let me know what your thoughts are if you have shot one of these Bow or another Bow similar to this. Also suggest me any other Bows that I need to look at before buying one.
Draw Weight listed is what the bow was set to when I tested.
Mathews mission Craze
http://missionarchery.com/product/craze/
Draw Weight – 45 lbs
AXLE TO AXLE - 28"
Price - $ 400 Including the sight and Stabilizer.
Since this was the 1st Bow I shot, dint really know what to expect. But after shooting others I realized it was a little harder to Draw & had lot of vibrations.
Mathews Mission Riot 2012
http://missionarchery.com/product/riot/
Draw Weight – 45 lbs
AXLE TO AXLE - 31"
Price - $ 500 Including the sight and Stabilizer.
The draw felt very similar to craze but had lot less vibration. It was easier to shoot then the craze. Realized it’s easier to shoot with a bigger AXLE TO AXLE.
All the bows from now on was shot without a stabilizer and sight
Mathews Mission Venture
http://missionarchery.com/product/venture/
Draw Weight – 60 lbs
AXLE TO AXLE – 30.25"
Price - $ 500 for Bow only.
Draw was a little tougher then the Craze & Riot. But I think it was just because I went up on Draw Weight from 45 to 60 lbs. And the vibration also increased as there was no stabilizer. But I could feel it was easier to shoot.
2012 Mathews Hēlim
(thanks to ritwik_b for suggesting this Bow)
http://mathewsinc.com/product/helim/
Draw Weight – 60 lbs
AXLE TO AXLE – 30"
Price - $ 950 for Bow only.
This was the lightest Bow I shot. I had never thought just ½ to 1 lbs difference would matter so much. Draw was extremely easy. It was easier than any other Bow I shot. It felt easier then 45 lbs Craze and Riot. The 60 lbs draw felt like there was nothing. Very little vibration (though I dint have stabilizer). Very accurate shots.
From here onwards, with every bow the arrows were super fast, all my shots got more accurate, was getting closer groups. I should rather say “the Bows were more forgiving”.
Hoyt Vector
http://www.hoyt.com/compound_bows/details/vector+32
Draw Weight – 60 lbs
AXLE TO AXLE – 32"
Price - $ 750 or $800 (Can’t remember right now) for Bow only.
Draw was good but not very easy. I thing after Mathews Hēlim it gets impossible to accept any other draw as easy. It was very fast and accurate. The vibrations were a little bit more than the Hēlim.
2012 Hoyt Carbon Element RKT
http://www.hoyt.com/compound_bows/detai ... lement+rkt
Draw Weight – 60 lbs
AXLE TO AXLE – 32"
Price - $ 1300 for Bow only.
Almost as light as the Hēlim. Draw was very similar to Vector. very fast and accurate. There were no vibrations at all. I could not believe I was shooting without a stabilizer.
He dint have Hoyt Carbon Matrix RKT and I also dint think about it much as the Carbon Element RKT is the newer model. Let me know if anyone thinks Matrix is better as it comes with AXLE TO AXLE – 35".
With what I tried on the higher end I would choose Hoyt Carbon Element RKT over Mathews Hēlim. I think apart from getting used to Draw, it felt very good. And even for the looks I would go with Carbon Element. But still haven’t decided if I have to spend that kind of money.
On the lower end I think I would go for Riot or Venture.

Are these products available in the country?
I had to import my PSE Stinger from USA via an online vendor and the shipping charges were considerable.
