I am always happy to share my happiness with you as with my family.

Last to last week, I got a bronze, in my first competition of muzzleloaders, in the revolver category. Scored 93/100 with the gun you see in my Avatar'. It was an Inter state match and our state shooting body gave me the honour of representing our state for the 4th consecutive time since last two years. I am happy to have saved my honour.

I am compiling a photo session of shooting ML revolver step by step and post it in a few days whenever I find some extra time.

Congratulations tirpassion ! :cheers: Way to go - and definitely nice achievement. Going French has its advantages - don't have to ponder long on what the beauty is clad in ! ;-) Really - quite proud to have you also mentoring us.
Jitu - In 42+ category I am leading you by 3-4 monhs. Yet, the other evening, while enjoying one of those rare walks with (my) wife around Shivaji Park, I happened to quote - "What is this life if full of care; we have no time to stand and stare..." My wife chided me that I was married to her for over 12 yr now! :-( I almost quit my poetic side. ROTFL

Anyway, jokes apart, thanks to a SIGINT by FF, (re-)started BD in earnest today - SA has slipped to 80% from what I thought was 90-95% earlier. Fig8 (60 CW & 60 ACW - both hands each) caused a burning sensation in the shoulder muscles. Plan to get to the range on Thu if possible.

Maan you guys are going to get such a butt whipping when Guruji logs in :shock: . All talk of exotic women, poetry and all...where are the rough hewn men with grips to give a grizzly a sore hand? Real slack all of you :) Only I have a legit manly excuse to not practice...I was shifting house and changing diapers in between. :lol:

Haven't looked down the barrel of the LP 10 for so long that its almost become a habit not to. :mrgreen:
Keep on doing this yakkin and you will all be shooting the bhyanak score. :-)
Go on post some targets and all, let's have a postal match...Tirpassion not allowed as for obvious reasons.

Regards,

Dev

Thanks a lot friends. I am honoured. Please put immediate brakes to what you are imagining or hallucinating may be about me. I am on the same boat as you are friends with a bit of maturity to feel perhaps. But this is easy work as I have been telling you. Mind the work though. Everything has been elaborated by Guruji. If you do it in a disciplined way, it will be easy. So the 'Easy' thing will come after the 'Work'. Right!

Jitu, what about that 'exquisite feeling'? You must revive it everytime. If you have written down your exquisite feeling of that particular day, you should read it often. It will help you to find the same feeling more easily. Diary writing is an exercise of mental training, I repeat. I repeat because our sport is based on programming our sub conscious mind which can only be done with repetitions; gestural, mental etc.

best regards

Another couple of walks and a few knock out poetry punches, Bhabhiji will tell you 'Let's marry again'. :D

Jitu with your "exqusite feeling" et al, I almost misread your couplet as "...alone he sights and aims at round, yon solitary Indian ass..." Add to that dev's butt whipping topping! ROTFL

With neither a house nor a diaper to change,
The target, the pulley and the lights await at range;
Wither avail the chance to ride,
Ask me to focus and cast the jolly banter aside.

All I seek is a flirty nod petit,
And cross the 90 au Jitu Sati;
Yet the haughty damsel Nine-Oh,
Taunts me inspite of all my heave-oh.

Ignore the faces and the frills,
Start upon those box drills;
Work those SAs and Figure Eight;
And shoot down that immortal weight.

A bit too much sugar in my stream - signing off now. :-) Happy Dreaming, err, Training guys. :cheers:

Thank y'all. Towards more serious side - I express similar feelings to one Jitu did about the diary and motivation. What to keep writing in diary and stay motivated ? I have slipped to a very poor diary writer form. When I write it's mostly what I have done wrt shooting and analysis and then what to do (esp. wrt PT) - and then - NOTHING! :-( Gurus - show us the light please!

Dear Friends,

I admit that it is not very easy to write the diary. Like your physical exercises. In the beginning, it s difficult, you feel tired, pain in the limbs and muscles. 'Stop It! it is getting me nowhere' you might say. But you tell to yourself that for good shooting which is your goal, you need to do Physical Training, Mental Training and Technical Training.. All are equally important. You get motivated again and you go for it.

Never write anything negative in the diary. If you are doing a box drill, cut out those boxes from an appropriate copy earlier. Prepare them for 40 or 60 shots. The day you do it, paste one on the diary and go for the exercise. You will be doing the box drill in your diary itself. Once done, get the % and start writing of what you did during the drill and how you felt.
An example:
'I started to feel a bit tired after the 5th shot. I should rest a minute after every 4 shots. Great! I am feeling things. That is an improvement'.
I am sure there will be apparently negative things during the shooting sessions. But you can always write the same in a positive way. Appreciate your good work (improvement of % or a good shot) generously and write on it. The exquisite feeling.
Write that you did a warm up.
Prepare your next session and write it down starting from the warm up (e.g After warm-up, I will do the 3to5 sec box drill. I will be attentive to the squeeze only. No respite, no parasitic thoughts, as soon as I perceive the perfect SA in my aim zone, I squeeze the trigger. I will achieve 95% yes, I will do it.) I will work on this part or that thing (those which went wrong for example). Fix a target of achieving a % and DO IT! Read the diary at home if you find time. The next day, read your diary first at the range before starting and stick to your plans set the other day. Work accordingly with no deviations.

The examples given are my thoughts which may not be right or adapted. Guruji will also correct me at the same time I believe. Another thing, I write my diary always in 2nd person. It is a very old habit of self talking and I can not write anything in 1st person for myself. 'Be careful and vigilant!' 'Put extra attention to your grip holding pressure' 'Check the freedom of movement of your trigger finger' etc. etc. I find this helpful because I feel that my inner self is talking to me and guiding me. The interaction is easier.

Hope that I have been of some help at least. Guruji, please help us!

warm regards

Hello Jitu,
there are 'talented' and 'genious' people on earth. Talent is a gift of God and is a very very rare thing. I would love to ask your question to Ivan Lendl. He did not have the talent of McEnroe, Sampras, Agassi or Federer for example but still he was one of the most successful players of his time for years with more accolades than McEnroe. He proved to the world what one can be with rigourous discipline.

I, being neither of the 'Two', have chosen the only possible path for me; DISCIPLINE and I firmly believe that Discipline is the Key.

warm regards

Back from the range today. Good Friday definitely ended up being bad for two people - one of them was given a chance two days later on the Easter Sunday - not quite sure about me. :-(

A long day thanks to the visit of self-proclaimed "Loo-puruSh" of India to the Savarkar Smarak. I should not have scored but just wanted to see where I stand wrt real time scenario. First I tried those SA and Fig 8 exercises but with the target at 10m. Was this right ? No idea; but I will tell you what - SA slipped to 60s in the first three sets to pick up to 80s in the next three. Then came the live fire. Decide on a full "match" - why ? After a long period I actually visited the range and was not sure how the gun response would be. Haven't fired at home in a long period due to "encroachment" upon my home range by the family members under guise of homeworks, projects, exams etc. etc. Plan to do a Municipal Clearing Action upon them once the school exams get over. Also had fired a few oily buds recently when I realized that I have not been doing justice to the barrel of the AP. I shot a total of 8 cards with a good break n between set of 4 cards; thus making two matches back-to-back. What that a good idea ? No points for guessing my second cards in both the sets: 83, 84, 74, 81, 91, 82, 85, 88. (Mastershot pellets .177 FH through FWB P34) Points quoted in no particular order otherwise.

Moral of the story ? :banghead: ? nah!
I need to work hard; and once I start working hard I need to work harder if I wanna achieve that MQS. :cheers:

PS: The last line is for diary; last but one is the realistic feeling. ROTFL
