Most Suitable Pellet for IHP Mod. 35 ( .22 cal.)

Hi friends,
I have recently acquired an IHP 35 (.22) . I request senior IFG members and owners of the above AR model to suggest me the brand name of the most suitable pellet for this model of AR - for doing outdoor target practice and general plinking. Some of my friends have suggested me to use Gsmith while others are telling me to go for Mastershot. Also, kindly enlighten about the type of pellet, like Flat head , Round head, pointed head.
I expect the answers to be beyond the generalized answer ," No two Air Rifles can produce similar accuracy and power using the same type and model of pellets."

Dear Abbas
Congrats for your new toy .Abbas for Target practice and plinking wadcutter (Flat head) is best .Gsmith pellets are heavier and they are around 19-20 grains.Mastershot pellets(export quality) are less weight than Gsmith .But for my knowledge try both the pellets and zero the rifle and your right that we cant specify that Gsmith or Mastershot is best for all IHP.when you use both you will come to know which suits for your IHP.But one thing quality wise Gsmith are better than Mastershot.

Dear Abbas! Congrats for your new gun. And as you have bought a .22 , I suppose its for plinking. So I would say round head pellets are the best for Ihp....

see what's the problem you should buy 2-3 different brands and give them a try, as im sure you will be more confused with the kind of replies you are getting, no one is wrong or right, something working for them may not work for you. will be happy if you try them out and post the results on this thread.

Thanks a lot dear Ramtiger , SnIPer and Ganesh for your valuable advice. Since all of you have recommended Mastershot Round head , I shall start with them and, if not satisfied, will try gsmith next.
@ Farhan - dear Farhan! Thanks for your reply. You are right. I shall start with Master shot round head. If I am not convinced with it, will try Gsmith round head.

> Any AR needs at least around 500 pellets to be fired before it settles down to some form of smooth firing.
> Remember every AR is different in behavior even though they are produced in the same factory / same batch of manufacture!
> My advice to you is first let your AR complete firing of a minimum of 500 pellets irrespective of shape or weight.
> After this shoot 50 pellets of 3 to 4 different makes in different weights. Keep a record (of the target sheets) and study the grouping.
> Incidentally all shooting must be confined to ONE POSITION ONLY - I suggest a Bench Rest as this will give you a better evaluation.
> Mastershot is 14gr, Magnashot is 16gr & GSmith is 19gr - from this you will note that the pellet drop will be different for each type at a fixed distance (30ft approx)
> Hence from the above you can arrive at a conclusion as to which pellet and in what weight is suitable to your AR - THEN STICK TO IT!!!
> Personally my IHP35 in 0.22cal - now modified & tuned and re-named SAMURAI 3G shoots 1/2" groups at 30ft with 16gr Magnashot - Position = Hand Held.
> Besides this I also shoot 14gr & 19gr occasionally just to get the feel & also keep my Samurai 3G accept / tolerate the variation.
> Remember the behaviour of an Air Rifle is more mysterious than a firearm!!!
