Are you serious, don't tell me you just wrote that. I really don't know how you came to this conclusion.
I am at a loss, sad day indeed mate. It's the last thing I would have expected from a fellow forum member.

Now, mods where are you???

Please, lock this thread NOW!!
The topic itself attracts unnecessary arguments!
our friend taha can get away with the simple solution proposed by many gentlemen here....
A sincere and modest apology. Docile behavior. Get back to studies.
Please lock the thread!

Do I have a wrong perception or is it that everyone is forgetting one thing here.
The object has no sharp blade. How does it become anything other than a piece of metal?
Why should he have to render apologies and fear? I fail to understand.

Thread locked as it has gone OT and has moved into non-gun politics. If anyone wishes to discuss non-gun related politics there are many other avenues on the Internet, lets keep IFG free of such divisive discussions/ arguements.

Also,

a) Firearm free zones like campuses are a failed concept. We only need look so far as to the Virgina Tech massacre to see why - such laws are only obeyed by the law abiding, crooks & sociopaths will arm themselves and prey on law abiding victims irrespective of such laws/ rules - in fact they are emboldened by them, as they can be sure of their victims being defenceless! Anyone over 18 can vote - this is a fact! If we can choose who has his/ her finger on the nuclear button, then we can choose whether or not to arm ourselves to defend our own lives. However, till such time as we are able to successfully change the laws we must work within the existing system.

b) As mentioned above, till such time as the laws are amended they must be obeyed. That of course does not mean that we cannot call a spade a spade and point out the foolishness of such laws/ rules and protest against them/ lobby for their change BUT that does not mean that we will condone or encourage anyone to break the law as it stands.

c) Finally, to address what Virendra S Rathore has pointed out. Whether the knife had a sharp edge or not is not really the point here, even if the accused could argue the point that would necessarily mean escalating the issue into the hands of the police. If that were to be done, firstly he would be charged under IPC (criminal case as opposed to internal disciplinary proceedings as initiated right now) and need to explain before a judge why he had a knife in the college hostel, the police would also place before the judge any & all other evidence that they felt was incriminating. Sounds simple? It is not, even innocent curiosity regarding many things can be made to sound ominous when placed in a certain way - the accused's internet records show that he frequently browsed certain websites, he read certain publications etc., none a crime in of itself, but you can understand how it would go... best course of action has already be explained to the OP earlier in the thread. He can choose to take the advice or not to. If he wishes to discuss religious/ political issues then (as mentioned above) this is not the forum for him to do it.

Cheers!
