Hi Gocool,

What all documents were you asked to produce before customs? Were you asked to pay any warehouse charges?

Ebenezer

Hello everyone, I have been watching this forum since almost 6 months, but I am a bit lazy so registered only two days ago :P

Anyways, I have been looking to import in couple of airsoft guns. And just yesterday I received a reply to my query from pyramidairsoft guys that they are not shipping to India.

Can someone who received their guns from them guide me through?

Is Fedex asking for original documents (Rifle club ID, letter, etc) for Customs clearance at Delhi? Can somebody who recently imported an air rifle through Pyramyd Air via Fedex clarify on this? In that case, do they return it promptly?

@ebenezer Not sure about Fedex Delhi- I have always got my guns cleared from Mumbai port. And yes, they need the original copy of club letter, auth letter, and item declaration letter. With colored scan copy of club ID. They asked me to courier them the docs- but I always visit the cargo building personally.

Hi ebenezer,

they asked me the following documents:
1. Commercial invoice,
2. rifle club id card,
3. letter of authorization to fedex,
4. reason for import,
5. supreme court stay order, (They didnt ask me, but i thought it was necessary)
6. notifications 12/05, 28.
7. catalogue price list.

i had scanned them and sent it to fedex delhi. it took about 20 days for them to clear the rifle and 22nd day received the same. meanwhile sent a letter to DGFT asking them if the supreme court stay order is being followed by the customs in letter and spirit and whether DGFT has written a letter to customs directing them to clear the air rifles lying at the air customs delhi in view of the stay of the Delhi High Court judgement exempting Air weapons from the purview of the Arms Act??

i didnt send any originals, all scanned copies.

i paid Rs.441 as warehouse charges.

Hope this helps.

Regards

Gokul

Please reply.
