Higher or lower...cost is not an issue- just make it sure that it's declared correctly in the invoice. Also, please see to it that the rifle doesn't have a higher FPS. 96% of the time, customs don't do a deal wood test. But if they do, and if the pellet penetrates the wood, they will hold it, and won't release the gun- and then it's treated as a firearm, and falls into Arms Act. They will ask for a gun license, and they might charge you fine around 10-15k.

I got 2 pistols, and 3 rifles imported. I import one every quarter.

Can you help clarify what would or could be the position taken by customs (from perspective of levying duty etc.) if I were to import an Air Rifle and a Hill Pump (to recharge the PCP) being a member of a rifle club in a single package. The Air rifle would be free of customs levy but would the pump attract levy etc.?

Yes - customs duty will be charged on the pump .

can we import powerful pcp like Walther 1250 Dominator if it is .177 cal??

Dominator 1250 has a rated velocity of 1200 fps, which is more than twice that of a match rifle (it's a field rifle). Not sure, but that would most likely fail the deal wood test ( http://www.indiansforguns.com/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=2335 )
