IHP VS Aimco: Which Air gun to buy? Owners/users only reply
Hello All,
Joined the forum just now.I live in Bangalore and am looking to buy an Air Gun, pref .22. From preliminary research, i understand that Indian made guns are a bit of a hit or miss quality wise. Also IHP is probably the best buy.
I would like advice keeping in mind the following:
1) I want accuracy, not power.Consistent accuracy is a must.
2) Therefore, the gun must have proper sights, barrel and other components integral to accuracy.Which manufacturer/Model has the best components and craftsmanship?
3) Light Trigger and cocking action.
4) Gun should be able to accept mods to internal components.
I have narrowed down my choices to an IHP 35 or an aimco.. Model 200 mostly. ANy suggestions/comments?
Dealers have a knack of jacking up prices.Anyone here know dealers in Bangalore and can help out with the purchase?
Thank You and Happy Plinking.

IHP only
Sometimes if you want to get rid of the gun, you have to pick the gun up.

Welcome aboard. IHP would be the one to buy. Dealers in Bangalore will charge you a premium. Best thing to do would be to pick it up from Aimco.

@ Suffix.....you tell me bro....do i..?
@all now that IHP seems to be the unanimous choice, it opens a fresh Pandora's Box....
As rightly mentioned above, There seems to be a chronic shortage of IHP rifles.Aimco website shows all guns are out of stock.I'll be buying in June/August so lets see what will be the situation at that time.
However, shortage means i'll have to shell out 20-40% more. Can't afford that unless i can win a lottery by then.Pickle, as the Brits say.
Any one on the forum know dealers in Bangalore and can get me a good price....?
Lastly a guy i know picked up a Diana 35 here in Bangalore for 5k or so.Now Diana is a reputed brand, so i don't know if it is a fake piece. In case it isn't, are Diana guns do-able? Assuming Aimco and IHP are unavailable at that time.
Thank you for the replies.

Diana will cost at least 50K not 5 K, anywhere in India.
I bought an IHP for 8500 + recently.
Some people said I was taken for a ride.. But that is the current price for the IHP .22
Diana gun is far more than doable, but since you are already in a pickle, you need to wait a bit to get an IHP for less than 10K

Since Diana is out, IHP nearly out of the question......I'm leaning to the aimco Model 200 now.Meh....why is the good stuff always in short supply?
Aimco Model 200 owners...will you please stand up and say a word?

hi skyman,
i purchased M200 from AIMCO last month. It is a good looking piece but heavy.
shoots good , i have completed 500 shots , even then no power drop found.
i was able to hit a 6" dia target at 80 metres 2 out of 5 times with AIMCO pointed .22 pellet.
i was able to hit a 4" dia target at 50 metres 3 out of 5 times with AIMCO pointed .22 pellet.
let us enjoy what we can get in india at affordable price and be happy.
Go for it , its performance is not way behind any other models (mentioned in this forum), eventhough it is heavy.
Happy shooting.

@ Pksraj
Thank you for your reply and accurate info bro.
You could hit a target at 80 m? Wow then it must be a powerful springer seeing that ihp has range of 35 m? Even 50 m is a good range.I trust the gun has not been modded?
How much did u pay for M200? Lastly could you post a few pics? I want to have a closer look at the sights, does it have a peep sight? And hows the cocking action?
@ IHP users, going by info given above, shouldn't aimco M200 be VERY powerful seeing it can hit targets at 80 m? IHP appears weak at 35 m.Your comments please.

most springers,,,even the indain make and they are powerful....depending on the elevation of the barrel can go close to 100mts.
the range of the ihp is not 35 mts... the pellet can travel much further. 35 mts ( like any other spring air gun; imported or indian ) is the optimal accuracy range for the ihp.
i have shot both , the aimco and the ihp. and yes the aimco is on the heavy side.
