Have finally decided to join the Big Bore clan...
Well as you can see below there are Bore's and then there are Big Bore's and the there are Big Bore's.
Not wanting to be a bore, you can guess what I am getting. Only problem at least an 18 month wait since its classified as a destructive device. Ah well gives me time to find a range I can actually use it on.
Why? Because it might be fun to reach out and touch something at 2 KM.

That does not look like a .50BMG.More like a 20mm.

20mm should have range in excess of 2K. That is why I said .50 cal.
I think that the photo of the ammo is just from his collection and to mess with our heads

A .50 BMG is only 'accurate' to about 1800 meters. I have applied for a 20 Vulcan license. 2K is about the max I think I will be able to shoot at around here... hence that arbitary range. Should be good for long distance quail hunting.
Yes the photgraph is just some ammo I collect. Which is why I have that wierd Winchester round everyone seems to keep asking about at the extreme left. I actually have three of them, which probably is more than most of those who actually have a weapon capable of using them in India.

Got news today. The application has been approved in record time in the district and has now gone to the equivavlent of the home ministry for approval. So Migt get the Vulcan quicker than anticipated.
Have in the meantime found someone who can CNC me the bullets. Going with solid brass.. since it seems to be simplest route.

Most likely 36x36 steel plates that are at least an inch thick. Don't quite think it is going to give me sub 1 inch groups at the ranges I plan to shoot. Lets see... right now am wondering if I should get a bolt action or semi, and am talking to FMR for building me a one off suppressor.
Recoil is a definete concern here, so let see what happens over the next 18 months or so.

You can hire a poor ol' gun-starved lad like me and have him absorb all that recoil from shooting. You can watch from right behind me.How is that?Win-win,innit?

In terms of a rifle... definetely a one off custom job probably from FMR or someone like them.
Again leaning towards a semi-auto with a blow back action to reduce recoil. Definetely in the 40 + lb range in terms of weight. So no chance of off hand shooting.
Also depends on whether the permit I recieve will allow for a magazine or not. If not, then it will be a bolt gun. Lets see what happens. I also need to order custom dies and a custom press, and source cases and primers. Ah well plenty of time thankfully.
