friend,
i donot know what criminal activity anybody can use it for.(apart from shooting birds)
a legally imported airgun is costlier than a illegally imported firearm.
so a criminal will only go for a firearm.
no logic behind this court order.there is no law against owning any number of airguns and similiar.
regards

So in future airguns are to be licenced and for any election, they will be ordered to deposit them and a) police stations will become arms godowns . b) wild goose chases to list air guns and owners c) another '' qualification '' for framing any one as'' armed '' d) one more way to harass and arm twist common citizens and the list will grow as our law enforcers start to think innovatively to blackmail the soft persons.

I guess this case is right. The forum has always been against the misuse of the privilege of importing air guns. Why does an individual need to import so many. Had he done it with the required permits, he could come out clean. Stating that air guns need to be discarded after 100 to 150 shots only make the scrutiny worse and casts a doubt on the integrity / need for imported air rifles.

Totally agree with Big Daddy. It is because of a few idiots who misuse the import privileges for their own selfish motives that the rest of the genuine enthusiasts suffer.........

what we have hear is a case of throwing ones weight about. lets take a look,

there is no law against importing more then one,
there is no law against keeping more then one
there is no evidence given as and when air guns used in crime

there is no law which prevents selling of airguns

so what does that leave us with?

it leaves us with the police throwing their weight about, which is against the law, the defedent just does not have a good layer to hand ROTFL

or least we forget the the police is only acting on there suspecting only and no proof of any illegal activeness and suspicion is not proof in the court of law

if you say it can not be done, then you are right, for you, it can not be done.
