Rajveer,
I don"t participate in competition,I am just fun plincker.
I have to ask whether Savarkar air rifle allows use of Benjamin
Discovery at their range or not. What I have seen during my training
period is that they have divided range in two parts, one is for trainee
or fun shooters where you can practice with club"s IHP air rifles, second
is for serious competitioners where everybody came with their competition
grade PCP air rifles.

Re: Airgun import experiences - via post/ courier route
Adding to to my last import ,our favorite "Fedex "also handsomely contributed
in delaying the package.
1)On first intimation call about arrival of package fedex operator listened my
email ID incorrectly, after waiting for day I called up customer care and got
corrected.
2)Fedex invoice mentions content of package as "Benjamin Discovery and pump",
so that at first fedex demanded all document regarding "PUMP" from "Benjamin
Discovery".
3)Fedex informed me that package is released and it will be delivered in next
two days, after five days on tracking the package I learned that it was held
by fedex due to non payment (that is clearance charges, warehouse charges
etc.).Regarding payment I was informed by fedex that I have to pay by cheque
on delivery of package.I called up customer care and learned fedex's
inter-departmental communication gap which cause one week delay even
after customs clearance.

Re: Airgun import experiences - via post/ courier route
Hi All.
I imported, rather am trying to import, an air gun from PyramydAir. In 5 days, it lands up in Delhi FedEx office and I am asked for required papers. I send in all papers and they acknowledge receipt.
Next day the mail back saying customs has new restrictions and nothing will be cleared until further court orders.... I am a little lost here
Any help and advise is welcome.

Looks like there have been lot of tight strings over the past 1 month.
I am first time hearing FedEx clearing through Mumbai port of entry. My experience is quite tight with Mumbai customs and UPS.
If there are members who have cleared in Oct - Nov please throw some light

Re: Airgun import experiences - via post/ courier route
Hi Guys
I followed this thread and imported a FWB 500 rifle and a Morini 162EA short from euroshooting (Miroslav Varga). Euroshooting buying experience was wonderful and they were very communicative and also gave the correct advice on the models etc., The guns came thru emirates and got it cleared through customs yesterday. The airlines took their time (almost a month) but the customs in Chennai took only 3 days. The paperwork was exactly as described in this thread. I will try it out this evening and post the photos tomorrow
Cheers!!!

rksitaraman,
would appreciate your answers on the following: were you asked to get a letter of permission from D.G.F.T., Delhi for importing from euroshooting? and did you get both together in one consignment?
As far as imports from Steyr direct from Austria, they insist on it and no problems at Bangalore ,at the airport, Customs does everything in about a week.
thanks and regards..Shankar

No letterfrom DGFT was asked by euroshooting.
I imported both at the same time
Incidentally, I might want to give away the morini 162EI bought in 2009. Any takers?. I will post it in the Buy /Sell when i make a decision.

Re: Airgun import experiences - via post/ courier route
Yes... right.. I have seen it too.... But its more of a Memo or notice, since the High Court has not yet ordered it. And it is applicable only in Delhi NCR.
Dont understand why a Bangalore shipment has to be blocked.... It can atleast be sent to Bangalore customs.... but who can bell the cat?

Striker,
I talked and emailed FedEx, and also sent them a letter addressed to the Delhi Customs requesting trans-shipment to Bangalore customs.... but they reply once in 3-4 days, after I call and remind them to check my mail... hopeless on that end!
Jonah... I also wrote to PyramidAir explaining this problem to them... soliciting their response too! I have asked them to let me know if they work with other couriers, and if we can choose the port of entry... Lets see.
