First shots on a target with my canon 35
I downloaded these targets from a website and used them for my first target practice. My gun is just one week old and hasnt fired more than a 100 shots. Although the targets are not ISSF standard, still something is better than nothing. The target on the right was my first one and i followed up with the one on the left. Pellets used were united shot flatheads and the distance was 10 metres.

Wow! This is an excellent grouping! I haven't seen such tight grouping for any Indian guns.
Well done!.

harshsc, your grouping and consistency is commendable. Shows you have either mastered the basics or have a natural talent that must be honed and taken to new heights. Good Luck.

Nice groups. Masteshot Flat head suits this rifle the most. You might want to do a "Trigger Tune". Should be done carefully by some one who know the job or you are asking for trouble as a little jolt could trigger off the gun.

Re: First shots on a target with my canon 35
Thanks BD. Somehow the rifle has started giving some problems with the cocking. It doesnt cock at the first attempt and i have to put repeat the thing 4-5 times in order to cock the gun. I dont know what the problem may be. I am thinking of tuning the gun and adjust the trigger as well. But i need some help from forum members regarding what tuning kit to be used and is there any gunsmith in kolkata who can get this job done. If not i may have to do it myself.

You might have broken your spring. Keep your ear on the stock while cocking. Try to understand if you hear some unusual sound.

Thanks suffix. Will check it out next time. But will jim maccari's kit for the diana be suitable in tuning the gun? More particularly will the spring fit it? Also, from where can i order the kit.

Re: First shots on a target with my canon 35
If the spring's broken would he be able to cock the gun at all ? He says he can cock after 4-5 attempts. Methinks, more likely the sear's worn off at the edge or the spring's lost its shape some-how/ -what. Was the gun fired empty a few times or with the barren broken ? Lack of absence of spring guide could also compound the problem, what say ?SUFFIX wrote:You might have broken your spring. Keep your ear on the stock while cocking.
