" I wudn"t mind gifting the stock to the person who made it so artistic..... "
- Sharp.......and really philanthropic of you ( )
Dodger can you either get another picture/s of any wording or tell us what is actually engraved on the rifle please ? That legend above in particular - it doesn`t say `shot and regulated by Holland & Holland` by any chance does it ?
If the rifle is an actual H&H built example I`ll join the queue to buy it as well. Actually, even as a magnum Mauser and not a H&H I`d rather like it............You can keep the stock though.

It really is an eyesore. If this is an example of Indian craftsmanship, I'd rather be a Martian.
The sad thing is that the work was carried out on the original Holland stock. You can faintly see the chequering lines in one of the pics.
Sujay, I have no idea which aesthetically challenged twit commissioned this work and even if I did, there's no reason to stand on formality. Fire away!
Grumps, I may be going back to the shop in a couple of weeks. Will get you all the details then. I am not sure if they will allow this rifle to be exported though.

Frankly it would be a real shame if it was allowed to be exported. The woodwork is disgusting but it could be hiding a really decent rifle. Could make a nice restocking project for someone.

I have got a nice walnut blank for a rifle stock.Have just about enough ebony for a fore end tip and pistol grip cap.Know a gunsmith who can make very good stocks and hot blue/rust blue the metal bits. All that I need is a rifle action. So the interest in the rifle. But only if it's cheaper than the going rate.Preferably 40-50,000/-.I know I am dreaming but you never know.

Bet 40 and 50 just about get a 315.
Mack The Knife even at 1.5 it should be a steal, even if one has to spend xyz to restore it,it might be worth it.
But I doubt it,would be intresting to know what the dealer is quoting my guess, a shot in the dark ,anywhere bet 4 and 5 just for the name.

Spot on Sanjay - the NRAI is selling IOFB .315 rifles to it's members for INR 41,401/- inclusive of VAT (ex-Delhi).Sanjay";p="15073 wrote: penpusher

OT, but since the .315 has come up for discussion, IOFB long-guns/ hand-guns purchased direct from the factory have a lock-in period, before you can resell it. Would the same apply to one of these guns bought through NRAI?
Cheers!

Looks like this rifle has the rare cocking piece rear sight?
Mack The Knife, this is wuss than the 'porn gun'.
Sorry people, I am a bit of a purist -want my guns steel and walnut. Not this Dali-esque piece of art.
En passant, is it ivory or plastic?
