Re: Introducing Walther LG 400
Well Here is the fun part
1. I got the invoice in Feb
2. It took me almost 20 days to transfer the money because the HDFC branch was not sure how to do it because of which my booking of the weapon got cancelled
3. It was then the weapon had to be rebooked
4. Then due to overbooking till July the weapon was not available.
5. Then the laws in Germany changed and sending of weapons by post got banned
6. Walther had to then figure out how to send it.
7. When they were ok sending it. I had to get permission from DGCA which took > 2 months
8. Once that was done I got my weapon.
woosh....
The weapon is overbooked at Walther end so it is taking atleast 4-5 months for Walther to send the weapon.

Re: Introducing Walther LG 400
As you know to import an air gun we need the following
1. State / National association level membership and card
2. A letter from State / National association which states that the person is a Registered Shooter.
3. Now one additionally needs a DGCA permission because the Gun is considered a hazardous material, hence we need a DGCA permission, for air transport by airlines and customs

Well this is a NEWS for me
with my limited knowledge DGCA is Directorate General of Civil Aviation in India.
What it has to do with someone importing an air gun hopefully in .177 cal .in to India
it will be a great help if you can elaborate , why someone should take permission from DGCA for his import.
Regards.

Re: Introducing Walther LG 400
You are right DGCA IS DC civil av.
It is needed because it is required by the airlines to carry gun cargo.
i do no have all the details of why I was asked to do it and i did it

with my limited knowlede, it is
D for Director
G for General
'O' is silent over here
C for Civil
A for Aviation
and if I am not wrong no permission is needed from DGCA for any kind of import
Kindly don't start a new TREND.

Re: Introducing Walther LG 400
My gun was being delivered by luftansa. there people need this document before the rifle enters the country.
when rifles used to come by post it was not required. The process is simple.

Re: Introducing Walther LG 400
Majority of air guns are still coming in to India by post/corier.
Just dont know about luftansa and DGCA permission.
It is still a NEWS for me that I need to get DGCA permission to import my Air Gun.
I dont understand what DGCA has to do with anyone's Air Gun Import.
