Query for Diana 350 Mag .177 users

Hi Friends,
long time viewer , first time poster here ,
ive very recently acquired a diana 350 magnum in .177 , as the more experienced 350 mag owners know
its a very hold sensitive rifle . hence the need to practice the hold by blowing thru tin after tin of pellets .

now to support the same , i have two options , pay approx 8000/- to targettune.in and get a 5 tin ( 2500 pellets)
of JSB exacts ( 10 grain ) . or pay about 1500/- to one of the local gun shops and get the same amount of Gsmith pellets .

assuming i dont have anyone coming in from the states or somesuch , please advice as to which option i should take .

on a related note , any experiences from long time diana 350 mag users is also appreciated .

Hi,

You can try the Gsmith High Impact or Gsmith Hollow Points. They should be good value for money.

High impact is about 10 grains and Diana Magnum should be ok with them.

Yes! i fully agree.... gsmith pellets work perfectly with dianas. Its my personal experience

Seems to be a decent group. Did you use open sights?

Groups should get better with time.

I'll be getting my Diana 350 Mag. classic .177 on Monday, definetly try gsmith pellets suggested in this post. I already have a Diana 54 in .177 are the pellets suggested here equally good for mod. 54.

Gsmith High Impacts and Hollow Points should be good for any magnum rifle.

The experts will always tell you, I have also learnt from them, 10+ grains is the key to success (but dont go to something whic is abnormally heavy)

yeah , using open sights , but i find that they dont seem to give enough precision,the front sight is a wee bit thick , do you have any suggestion for
improving the grouping without adding a scope .

HI,

I dont have a diana magnum hence cannot comment exactly but the rules of the game is if shots are hitting right turn the side knob clockwise and vice versa...if the gun is shooting low, you need to lower the rear sight by the top knob and vice versa.

Best is do a bit of trial and error and you will see the results yourself only.

hey bodhi ,
firstly thanks for the sighting advice , haven't actually tried moving any knobs yet , was just trying to improve
my groups before fiddling with it .

what i was asking though , is that , is there any way to upgrade or change the sights , short of getting a scope
so that they are a bit more accurate (with a smaller group) .

Hi,

You need to fiddle the knobs a bit to zero the gun. I did a lot to get my IHP zeroed.

About upgrade/changing sights, I dont have an idea.

Hi friends,
one more innocent question as the air rifle here we are discussing are mag. and surely capable of hitting target upto 50 yards or so accuratly ( may be more dont have much idea about that). Want to know upto what distances open sight should be perfered and when to go for scope.
I perfectly understand it all depends on an individuals own capacity like vision ,shooting skills , size of target etc.
but are there recomendations, suggestions by experts.
suggestions will be a real help .

@rajveer ,
not a pro with the 350 yet , but from personal experience , upto 25 meters , if bench rested we can hit with iron sights.
anything more and if you still want to hit coin sized targets , you need a scope .

Today afternoon got my Diana 350 classic ( it is a 350 Mag. but stock and sight are different).
what a beauty man. Definitly going consider your view about scope.

There are various versions on 350 Mag.

I would prefer the classic with iron sights, instead of the Optic Fiber sights.
