[HELP] Information on Replica Guns for use in Documentary..

Posts that don't fit into any other category. If it's anything to do with guns, it probably doesn't belong here!

@GunTrainer,
You have only 2 posts, how can i know u are THE REAL DEAL? That's why i had asked to provide ur company's site & info, which is in Public domain, if you guys have a site.

@Sanjay & to Everyone Else,
My name is Raj. I am from Kolkata, the City of Joy. Yes, I been a Gun Nut, from my childhood days. But, in India we dont have that much oppurtunity in that sector, specially for those who have a knack for these things unless you are related to Tata's or Birla's. As Gun Porn in here, cost a hell-lot of money. :D

I think I have introduced myself. If you guys want to know more about me.. then let me know. I am not that much of a Social Animal & tend to keep my life off-line. :) You know what i mean.

About time.. I was waiting for when people start screaming. This is what happens in here (not forums), if someone asks for help, thousands rise up to advice, none to actually help out. I am well aware that I am new to this community & trying to find my ways around it. But, comments like this from a member with 887+ posts is really de-motivating.

Btw, do you know what exactly do "Trolling" mean? It's sounds similar to a kid screaming "lol", without even knowing meaning, every 5mins @ every second word or so..

Please, leave the moderatations to the responsible people (Admins/Mods). If i was this & that seems fun, but since you aren't then just chill. Mods are aware of their duties, if they find any issues with my posts, they will act on that, you donot have to ask them to do so. :)

Hi Guys,
We are a Defence oriented company, operating from Bangalore. One of our products is a Small Arms Simulator, which we sell to MoD, para military and Police. We are one of only two Indian companies who are doing this kind of work. Will put in our intro in the forum's intro section, when I have a little time (need to be clear that the forum allows doing the "shameful bit" )
I came upon this forum while looking for Gun laws in India. Particularly, import and export of replicas. Had a long meeting with the customs authorities today....will let you guys in on the findings after I have a sitting with the Police Commissioner's office next week. Hope it will help people wanting to get Airsofts into India.

@leetmonkey
Please understand that we cannot give replicas of military weapons to persons without verifying their credentials because of security reasons. Our website may be on Internet, but it cannot be classified as public. Your credibility is suspect at this stage. For contracted documentary productions for GoI, Army will allow use of their weapons. For cine/video industry, the specifics as required by you (exact types) is not understood.
Please answer this for us : do you want only external replication or are you interested in internal replication too (I.e., bolt carrier/breech block, hammer, safety catch etc and their accurate movements)?

I have never mentioned anywhere that we are a contrated documentary production house, if we were so, then i wont be asking for directions in IFG Forums. :)

Yes, External Looks & Movements are good enough for our purpose. I am interested in blank replicas, as they pack a punch, in terms of sounds, weight & feel (kicks from firing). Which help when u are filming, makes things more realistic. :)

Seems like what you want is a blank firing weapon. Dont think that might be possible without the cooperation of the MoD to lend you a few weapons for filming.
Or you could simply shoot outside of India, where getting these weapons is a lot simpler.

I came upon this forum while looking for Gun laws in India.
What gun laws other than Arms Act 1959 you have been able to find till now? Arms Act 1959 is a specific law enacted by Parliament to regulate arms which are a fundamental right guaranteed under Articles 19 and 21 of Constitution of India. The provisions of a specific law will override the provisions of a general law.
Particularly, import and export of replicas.
Replicas are imitation firearms. Imitation firearms are not covered under Arms Act 1959.
Please understand that we cannot give replicas of military weapons to persons without verifying their credentials because of security reasons.
Now this seems is going too far, almost bordering childishness and ridiculousness. Those bent on causing real "security reasons" are not going to be looking for your replicas. Those who attacked the Parliament, did they attack with replicas?

As the Arms Act 1959 stands today, I can manufacture a replica. Now how is any law getting violated and causing "security reasons"? Are you saying that there is some law that prevents manufacturing or possessing of replicas?

It needs to be understood that firearms are simple machines and have been existence for centuries when there was no electricity, computers or mordern amenities. They can even be made in jungles, caves or huts with few machine or hand tools.
