[HELP] Information on Replica Guns for use in Documentary..

Posts that don't fit into any other category. If it's anything to do with guns, it probably doesn't belong here!

[HELP] Information on Replica Guns for use in Documentary..

Post by leetmonkey » Tue Sep 13, 2011 1:46 am

Hello Friends,

I am looking / seeking information about where & how I can get access to Replica Weapons for Film/Video Shoot. Is there any permissions required for those, if any? I am aware that there are people who supply them for film/movie shootings, but since I am new in this field its hard for me to find one.

They should look & feel 100% Authentic & 1:1 in aspect ratio.

Any information in this regard is highly appreciated.

You may try contacting these people http://www.curioushouse.com/about_us.htm Besides these people there are many other manufacturers also, you may search in yellow pages of this website or google.

Arms Act 1959 does not apply to imitation firearms. Arms other than firearms are not usually under regulations(requirement of license etc.) of Arms Act 1959 unless a notification under Section 4 of Arms Act 1959 has been issued by the central government for a specific area.

What kind of replicas are you interested in? I know some people who make replica flintlocks, matchlocks and and muzzle loading guns. I point them out to you.

If you mean the usual 'starter pistols' of contemporary models you can inquire with arms dealers in your area.

In the serach box on the top right hand corner of this webpage, just search for "ak replica"(without the inverted commas), you will get plenty of results.

I find that very strange as i just did the same search and the first result was the correct one.

Purposely avoiding sending you the link. Nothing personal but many people using the forum as a personalised google.
Do it again and post what you see as a result.

@shooter,

I dont know, what you meant by "personalised Google", but the best result i got was this "http://indiansforguns.com/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=12018" which i am not sure is what I am looking for.

what i mean is that instead of using the search functin in this site which is in the upper right hand corner, people come and ask a question so that other members can go to that upper right hand corner, type "replica ak 47", get the resust of the replika ak 47 thread and then copy paste the result.

I again tried it and it gives the result. please try it.

Please go through the search results patiently and try to PM the persons who started the threads or someone giving an indication that they know the contact details of importers etc. or have imported the products themselves. If you are still not able to find any information that serves your purpose, then probably you may have to contact the manufacturers/exporters directly and import the products. Probably this can give you some idea http://indiansforguns.com/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=5584

@leetmonkey,
As stated, I need to get your credibility established before I can part with any information. Sorry about that. Security is important for us.
