You say that you probably won't use the 2nd gun for hunting, so in my mind, I'd be thinking about what else you can do in shooting sports besides hunting.
One thing you can do is collect, but having a collection with only one or two guns is somewhat limiting. And generally, you don't shoot collected guns, or do it very often. In that case, you are looking for something that interests you, which only you can answer.
If you want to shoot a lot and you have a range, a .22 rifle makes sense, because you can shoot it a lot and do so very inexpensively, compared to shooting anything else.
Another way you might shoot a lot would be to use a shotgun in trap or skeet shooting. However, I don't think I would buy a gun and then go skeet shooting to use it. It's likely your interests will cool off after a time. Rather, the better situation is that you want to shoot skeet, so you go buy a gun to do it.
If you are getting a gun just because you want a gun, there's nothing wrong with that, and in such a case you are more like a collector and then you simply need to find something that interests you.

Re: Rifle or ShotGun.
true bro, that's the only reason i came to this forum, to see what Indian residents r doing to fulfill their need for guns. ne ways cheers for ur choices, mp5 is my fav too, when ever i see a commando carrying an mp5 on an airport etc. my eyes r stuck on it :p lets not go there either.... the question is simple a pump action shotgun or a rifle of ur choice and why?MoA wrote:I have several favourites for various purposes. I like the K31 but you cant get it, ditto for the STGW 57, ditto for the Vz 58, same again for the 6 BR, again for the MP5 so on and so forth. The choices available to me, are not quite available to you.itheemperor80 wrote:ok guys, my bad, lets not go off topic, i really want ur help with ur personal fav type of weapon n why u prefer it. thanks

hmmm i feel u r right Tim, it's upto me to decide only but, it's always better to take other opinions.....i've always had a thing for pump action shotguns.....i believe for my immediate weapon will go for a pump action shotgun n look for what's available in the market in good condition n maybe start a new thread with the choices available.timmy wrote:You say that you probably won't use the 2nd gun for hunting, so in my mind, I'd be thinking about what else you can do in shooting sports besides hunting.
