@to_saptarshi
Thanks. I was deciding between the two but finally went with an LP10E. The pellets I'm using are H&N sport and H&N Match Kugeln. Please check your PM.
@ckkalyan
Thanks. You are welcome.

Re: Steyr LP10 question
@hornet
Since I just started pistol shooting less than two months back can't really say much about grouping, but my personal best is 5-10's and 5-9's of 10 shots with the new pistol. The test card that came with the air pistol has a group size of a single hole for 10 shots at 10m.
The grip is very comfortable and the pistol much lighter when compared to the club pistol (Feinwerkbau model65) that I was using earlier.

Grip modification..
Off topic but do read this blog by which is interesting reading.You will have to set the grip, which means that the grip if wooden would have to be sawed or added with more wood to fit your hand - Would recomed to get someone to help you with this one
http://toz35.blogspot.com/2011/05/muscl ... -shot.html
Regarding modification of the grip I quote from the blog..
"Here I can remember one more great shooter of the past - Anton Marcovich Jasinski. He literally burst into the shooting sports from the regimental armory workshop at the age of 40 years and in two years became the champion of Europe, setting a world record in Free Pistol - 565 points. Jasinski had a pistol MC-2 (MTs-2), the grip for which he made himself out of birch log, selected from among the firewood used for heating the workshop. Anton Markovic had an extraordinary habit - when fitting the grip, to make some sort of protrusion that’d prevent it from being too comfortable. He explained it this way: «To make sure the muscles do not fall asleep.»
And another example: the famous «Admiral», Alexei Petrovich Danilov, who for many years was a gunsmith of the USSR team, asked me once to finish fine-tuning of the revolver grip, made for Mahmoud Umarov. Mahmoud Bedalovich came to the studio, I put the grip on, and he went to check it. He then returned with the target which had 5 nines of 30 shots and asked to put the old handle back. «I’ll not shoot with this one – it is too comfortable» - he said, and left without further explanation. His old grip I remember well - very dark"
----------------
I was told by a famous international medalist that most shooter tend to neglect the primary weapon which is 'the mind', he said firearms were secondary weapons..
all the best

Re: Steyr LP10 question
Chrono your pistol. Mine was shooting way lower and hence would not handle Indian pellets at all.
After I increased the velocity it now handles p-10 pretty well. Though I doubt that it will ever shoot the master shot flatheads well.
If you ever use Indian pellets please clean the barrel after every box, accuracy actually suffers.
Like your pistols grip colour.
Regards,
Dev

That's a good suggestion. But the pistol shoots 140 shots with a full cylinder as claimed by Steyr so I guess it was not the velocity but just the sights.dev wrote:Chrono your pistol. Mine was shooting way lower and hence would not handle Indian pellets at all.

I hope i don't ever have to use Indian pellets. Thanks for the tip will surely keep in mind. As for now I fire felt pellets after every session and once a week clean the bore with cleaning felts and condition the barrel with Lupus Teflon grease.dev wrote:If you ever use Indian pellets please clean the barrel after every box, accuracy actually suffers.
Thanks. After placing the order was hoping I get the pistol with the darker grip.dev wrote: Like your pistols grip colour.

Re: Steyr LP10 question
Dear Comrades,
After a long wait & running around with frequent visits to custom house,I finally am a proud owner of Steyr LP10. Though I went through this post in detail, my question still is the same - is there anything to be done before starting to shoot other than adjusting grips & sights? There is a video on converting CO2 to compressed air - is that process to be followed?
Does LP10 have any cell? I checked the container and there are none. Is it only for LP10E?
I know am sounding here like a duh after importing a pistol of this caliber
I did go through the manual but there are no step-wise procedures as to where to start from.
Dear sniper, pls check your pm!
On the brighter side, will post the pictures soon
Cheers,
Rup

2. Ensure that the cell is installed
3. Once this is done doe some dry fire with it
4. Next goto range fill in air and take all the keys which come with it
5. Fire and zero the site which will include fixing rear and fore sight - again I am no expert in this and people in range will be able to help you.

Re: Steyr LP10 question
Dear shadow,
Congrats! Its good to know you have got your LP10.
I have replied to your PM. You really do not need to do anything to the pistol. Before making any adjustments to the grip or sights I would recommend shooting a couple of hundred rounds rather than making any changes right away. The cell is required for the LP10E and not the LP10. The new LP10 are compressed air pistols (PCP) therefore the conversion from CO2 to air video is of no relevance to your pistol.

Re: Steyr LP10 question
Congratulation !!! Rup. Needless to say you are a proud owner of one of the best air pistol ever made.
Could you please share with us the details , like where did you it purchased it ? and how much you have paid for this beauty. and most important shipping method and courier company used ?
Infact I am also looking for a LP10 for almost a month . Thanks to sniper22 as he forwarded me some of his valuable contact just to make sure I get the best deal, but recently another problem has arised , All German weapon Manufacturer used DHL as their primary shipping agent. Now from 1st July DHL stopped carrying any firearms and their parts outside germant (including airguns) which is now become impossible for anyone buying weapons from germany unless they sort out an alternative path. I got many quotes from different company both from Germany and India, but somehow the shipment issue has not resolved yet. So I am keeping my fingers closed, and hoping it will resolved soon.
I sincerely appreciate any help / information on this .
Do post us your grouping and performance with this beauty
