Nagarifle dreams in color?

Post by xl_target » Tue Jun 28, 2011 1:06 am

When I saw this photo, I thought of our friend Nagarifle right away. While it is not his favorite 105mm howitzer, it shows a Howitzer in the moment of firing.
The spades at the end of the trails are digging in so it must be one of the first shots. Either way, it is an awesome photo, almost looks like a screen-shot from a video game.

The caption says:
U.S. Army soldiers from the 2nd Platoon, B battery, 2-8 Field Artillery fire a howitzer at Seprwan Ghar forward fire base in Panjwai district, Kandahar province, southern Afghanistan on June 12.

Not back blast (there isn't any). That's just the gravel flying from the trails digging in at the first shot.

The spades are at the end of arms as seen in this photo below. The first few shots will kick up dirt/gravel as the spades dig in.

As TwoRivers says, there is little or no back blast.

This is the same M777 that India put out an RFI on. They wanted 145 guns. The procurement process was restarted and the usual procurement Tamasha followed.

The losers are the army as this is a really nice weapons system.
The M777 is also often combined with the new Excalibur GPS-guided munition, which allows accurate fire at a range of up to 40 km. This almost doubles the area covered by a single battery to about 5,000 km2. Testing at the Yuma Proving Ground by the US Army placed 13 of 14 Excalibur rounds, fired from up to 24 km away, within 10 meters of their target,[5] suggesting a circular error probable of about 5 meters.

Oh, FPSrussia. He called me a scammer just cause I asked him to comment on our Guns For Peace video. Feels bad man also the airgun licensing thing made me sick, I just saved up some money and was about to buy one from Amico :( FML
Back on topic, these are some awesome photos. Just like you said I thought it's a bullshot from COD at first glance but later I remember these are Chuck Norri's airsoft lol
