Hi Hillsman,
> Your quiz about 'the right way to shoot with open sights' have been adequetly answered by fellow IFGians "Timmy" & "Essdee".
> Truly its a matter of "Personal" levels of comfort. Try all the inputs suggested - am sure you will find yourself the "right" way to shoot with open sights.
> Additionally "Breath Control" and a "Steady Hold' are equally important while shooting. Do breathing excercises and excercise your shoulders, neck & hip joints.
> Also "Do Not Pull" the trigger - "Squeeze" it gently & hold the weapon on target for a fraction of a second longer after discharging the gun.
> Remember that Air Guns (most springers) are sub-sonic (slower than the velocity of sound) - this helps in getting better groups.
Happy Shooting
Cheers :D :D :D

You will generally shoot better with both eyes open.

See the the black blinder piece on the air rifle below her left eye ? It helps in blocking what her left eye can see and removes the need of closing the left eye and thus preventing straining of the facial muscles....

As an example of overcoming adversity, Karoly Takacs has few peers. He was part of Hungary’s world champion pistol-shooting team in 1938, when an army grenade exploded, crippling his right hand. Ten years later, having taught himself to shoot with his left, he won two gold medals in the rapid-fire class.

like fantumfan recommended stanley's is the best screwdriver ive seen . I have at least 20 different various shapes and sizes of them with me . They last a life time and they cost around 160 a piece .

I use Hoppe's cleaning kit on my HW 80 , a bit of dirt does very much effects the accuracy . When i feel I am missing the mark I do a cleaning and its back to bulls eye.

Dr Jayakumar : I have also found H& N extremely accurate at long distances . Ive stopped using other pellets .I use only H&N FTT in .22 .

Timmy, I have one of those thingies with the suction cups (got it from Naga). Even then I tend to shoot with left eye closed, as I get the double image, as in when you deliberately squint and see everything twice (or if you have a few too many  ). Is it due to the eyeglasses I wear (I am -7.5 D, so I need those glasses!)?

Prasanjit, Do give me a buzz when you go to H&H next. I need to show my SDB to a good repair guy. I still am having an incredibly hard trigger (after maybe 3000 shots). So hard that after 20-30 shots, the trigger finger goes numb - I actually can't hold a pen properly!

Cheers!

For sure SD... I just wondering how can a trigger be so hard that ur finger actually gets numb... at some days i shoot more than 60-70 shots in a day and what goes numb is my shoulder but in your case its just too terrible that your finger gets numb.. will surely go to H&H together someday in july..
