Contributing money for legal expenses for filing appeal
Fighting a legal appeal needs money. I guess if we want our air guns to be license free, we should help by contributing money to folks fighting for this cause.
Please respond....and state reasons where applicable....
I cast my vote as a YES.....

As an example of overcoming adversity, Karoly Takacs has few peers. He was part of Hungary’s world champion pistol-shooting team in 1938, when an army grenade exploded, crippling his right hand. Ten years later, having taught himself to shoot with his left, he won two gold medals in the rapid-fire class.

But why limit ourselves to Air Guns only. I would rather contribute for RKBA.

Exactly. We need to attack the bigger issue that is causing all problems including this one. Some ideas about RKBA is guaranteed under Article 19 and 21 are discussed here http://www.lawyersclubindia.com/forum/R ... -36011.aspYES. But why limit ourselves to Air Guns only. I would rather contribute for RKBA.

Re: Contributing money for legal expenses for filing appeal
I am ready to contribute for the current cause, not denying for RKBA, but
I just wish we should concentrate what is immediately before us. if air guns also start needing license just forget the next generation would ever be interested in this sports or think about keeping or bearing arms. As far as I know love of gun is a born instinct ( definetly in my case as my siblings don't have it). And to devlope this hobby air gun is a must in initial years.
No doubt RKBA is a wonderful concept , but I would suggest lets win the battle first and prepare ourself for the WAR.
Regards,
Kuwar.

YES for FF's current question,
and I'd obviously support moves for full RKBA. Monetarily if I need to

Re: Verdict of Court for Air rifle licence and sale of airrifle
If you gents are banking on procedural hurdles to ensure that the verdict remains only on paper, you couldn't be more wrong. If the Govt. decides not to appeal (the GOI was the initial respondent in the case, with NRAI and Airgun Mfr Assn. joining in later) OR decides to implement it to the fullest, small issues like the total number of airguns in circulation, lack of serial no's etc. would not be any impediment for them.
Many of the old muzzle loaders did not have any serial no. stamped on them, did that prevent their licensing?
The point I am trying to make is simple. Unless people are ready join together and battle it out, prepare yourselves to loose your freedoms - bit by bit! The direction things are currently taking I wouldn't be surprised if eventually the only guns & airguns we will see would be either owned by the state (security forces) or in photographs!
On a brighter note, Shri. Raninder Singh, the new President of the NRAI has sworn to win this battle - even if it means spending money from his own pocket (his own words). That fact, and also since the Court verdict puts a question mark on the Airgun Mfrs Assn being party to the suit, would lead me to suggest that if anyone wishes to contribute to this legal battle, they should consider contacting the NRAI... this is merely my suggestion.
Cheers!
Abhijeet

Re: Verdict of Court for Air rifle licence and sale of airrifle
Its basically a ostrich approach to burry head in sand and think of all frivelous reasons. Even if lets say its immpossible to restrict or license air guns, but with law in place, cop can any day put one in jail for violating law with one question 'Licence hae kya iska". And next day the headline will be "Caught with illeagal arm".
Make contribution for the cause instead of burrying head in sand.
Cheers,
Biren
