Some pics taken last Sunday....

Post by Mack The Knife » Fri Mar 02, 2007 11:26 pm

....when me and three friends had gone down to a friends farm to pattern the shotgun.

Let's see who can identify all the rifles correctly.

The lever action looks like a Marlin 39A. The large screw on the receiver and the fine line of the marlin bolt gives me that idea.

What did I win ?

Good work guys. Barring the 318 (which one was it supposed to be Orthopod?), you have got very close or hit the mark.

From left to right as seen in the last pic:

Brno ZP49 SxS, 12 gauge.

Remington 742 Woodmaster, .30-06.

Venom Maglaza HW80K + Simmons Pro-Air 4-12x40.

Weihrauch HW90 + Bushnell Sportview 3-9x

Marlin 39A, .22lr.

Diana 54 + Bushnell Trophy 4-12x40.

Weihrauch HW90 + Bushnell Legend 5-15x40.

The missing rifle is a Weihrauch HW77K.

Did you changed stock of HW80 or worked on the old one. I don’t recall it to be this nice when I saw it last time. How was your fishing trip.. no photos yet...:(

Mack The Knife,

The Remington semi auto looks mint. What vintage is it? 70s?

Cheers!

I thought you already had. Anyway, let me know when you are coming and I'll pick one up - they are stored at my friend's place.

Nope. It's been this way before you came to Bangalore. All the oil finished stocks get a once a year oil finish. Other than that nothing.

Late 60's or early 70's. I don't think it's later than '73 because that is the year the owner returned with them from the U.S..

If you think this is in mint condition (it isn't), you should see the Marlin. The Marlin also has an original Marlin branded scope. The only thing not in good condition was the rear sight. My friend ordered a new one from Brownell but the rifle keeps shooting high by 3" at 43 yards with SK Magazine ammo.

I'd be surprised if the Remi has had more than 100 shots through it and it's more or less the same for the Marlin.
