Query- carrying airgun from abroad
Dear IFGians,
A friend's travelling from China to India for a week's time. Its a business visit. He's Chinese. Will he have any problem if he carries .177 cal air rifle or pistol with him? He told me that he'll help me get one if he doesn't get arrested. Any ideas or suggestions?
Cheers,
N

Thanks, hornet! He is coming from Hongkong. I believe if he sends it to me thru courier, it'll get detained by the customs, right? Will it be ok if he gets in in checked-baggage?
Thanks,

If you are not a member of any rifle club, do not have a wild dream to get one.

Importing a .177 is one thing. Doing so from China is another. Better be double sure. Recently got some things stuck in customs (nothing to do with air rifles) and had to forget about it coz it was from China. Had the same product been imported from Paris or any European country, it would have come through as it did later.

Don't think you have enough experience with Chinese airguns to put a blanket negative on them. The qb78 and the Bam 40 are incredibly good air rifles at half the cost of the Crosman and the Air Arms original.

China+guns.........bad combination! The 1962 hangover is still on, guys.

Might be worth trying Hatsan air rifle from Turkey of you are not looking at German, British or American product in general. .

Jingoism doesn't beat facts. Nor does it help the discussion.

In other news, I didn't know that importing stuff from China would be that cumbersome. From pin to piano, China supplies everything across the globe, right?
