Ordering FixedBlade Online and Importing
Hi,
Im planning on getting a SOG Seal 2000, and am ordering it online, the only problem is I can only ship it to USA and then maybe have someone ship it from there over here, I was wondering if that is allowed by law or any custom duty ect. I dont want to spend so much money on a piece just to have it jacked by some idiot in customs.
Also iv been trying to find any company that is a go between and maybe could help me in purchasing this knife, it would be much easier that way. There was a company on Ebay, called Cart2india, and when i contacted them about a month ago they said they could do it, but quoted a price that was about 50$ more than the piece price, and said it was for shipping and custom duties, which all in all, I am fine with and have no problem paying. But when i contacted them a couple days ago to purchase the blade and finalize the deal, I got no reply from them. iv sent 2 emails over the past 3-4 days and havnt gotten a reply, so im wondering if maybe theve gone out of business or something happened? anyways, if anyone knows any similar companies, that would be super helpful as well.
Thanks for the time a patience!

Try 20north, I have got many fixed & folding blades from them, though sometimes delivery schedules do get stretched a bit. Otherwise, never had any problems with them.

20 North have been dissapointing to deal with, to put it mildly. Do go across relevant threads on the forum pertaining to 20 North before dealing with them.

Whenever I mailed cart2India after hotlisting a knife, they replied saying that particular knife couldn't be shipped to India And they are way more expensive than even 20North..

Today I received one folder( cold steel/ Kudu ) from their ebay store and one fixed blade from direct purchase ( ka-Bar/ peter Janta ) for an reasonable price and my knife A/c is opened.
Thanks to davidj7 , who recommend the seller( cart2india ) and works very well to me.

Congrats! Perhaps I shall try converting some of the knives on my wishlist into actual purchases then!!
