A properly blued Ashani looks so much better than that so called stock nickeled finish, IMO .

According to present indications about 18 months. However, the actual time of delivery will depend upon cancellations etc. You may be aware that the production of pistol is very limited about 5000 a year as against more than 15000 revolvers. So the waiting period is longer.Efforts were made to increase the production of pistols but it has not been successful so far as preoduction of a certain alloy is very limited and priority is given to products used by the security forces. The argument put forward is that those who are in immediate need can always go in for the revolver.

Hi All!

Fired my pistol for the first time yesterday with 10 rounds of KF (5 rounds in each magazine) and I must say that it went smooth like MHAKKAN without any jams. However, I would like to know what is the maintenance required after firing the weapon. Gun gurus please advise.

i recently bought after an additional permission ashani .32 pistol over the counter at market rates of punjab for 1.75 with an extra mag clip and thirty cartridges five forthe first test and the rest for keeping the gun was in absolute new condition grooves and the hammer sound good.while test firing i found no differance in performance between it and .32 one berreta and other acolt the imported pistols might have asuperior quality material wise but performance wise i could not find any differnce .I think it the bullet or cartridge like .380 makes the differance with the gun nothing much.people want more powerful guns but i have seen most of them dont realise or can handle the recoil part my personal experience of shooting straight was better with .22 at the range than a.45 at the same place in phuket thailand;there they have nice shooting range though expensive but for once in a blue moon does not matter on aholiday.....some expert comments please

Dear Hornet
I find it bit expensive for 1.75 Lacs when you can buy foreign made pistol with some extra cash. I think age of an arm does not matter that much as the quality of stuff used in making it. But thats my opinion.

dear browning effect,
may you are correct on Quality Front but prices are so high you can buy 3 - 5 brand new ASHANI .32 for one CZ or Beretta. One dealer in pathankot was asking 8 lac for NIB beretta. So for a common man ASHANI is not a bad option.

I was visiting a gun dealer and I couldn’t help noticing a “hybrid” IOF pistol and captured some images from my cell phone for forum thought some members might find it amusing.

Bespoke,
A very similar modified Ashani has been discussed on page 42 of this thread . I like your choice of words, "amusing" is right . :D .
One IFG member bought it for 2.25L , how much did the dealer quote for the piece in that picture that you have posted ?

Doc,

I am not all that much into handguns (except 1911’s) so i didn’t not bother to ask the price, I took the pictures for the forum. I can if you want me to.

I booked a Ashani .32 Pistol At Cossipore in December. I got the booking confirmation letter stating the waiting period is 10 months which may increase or decrease. I want to know when should i send the DD for the balance amount. Either after 10 months of booking or will they communicate with me for the balance amount as the last date for payment is on 31 March 2012.
