Don't be bowled over by the name.Considering what I have seen having been done to old guns,I would give it a good hard look.
Some have been messed around to the extent of these being unsafe to fire.Ammo for the .375 H&H is hard to come by and is expensive (Rs. 400-500).

any thing you do with a 30-06, you can do with a 375 H&H only with more power behind, so if you have use for a 30-06 you have a use for a 375 H&H

any kind of culling of pigs is great with a 375 H&H, also with the added avantage that if you want to hunt in other country's the 375 is about perfect for most hunting in africa, it can be used with great sucess in europe, america and australia. so having a gun that you have used and are proficient in shooting because you have practised with it, would be the most practial of them all.

so the practial application of a 375 H&H is numerous even in india

i would rather have more power than needed in any situation than the oppesite, but that is just me

yes, you can get an export/import permit for hunting in other countrys, i will possibly be delivering a batch of ammunition in zambia later this year, to a gentleman from india for his safari and he is bringing his own gun from india, the caliber is 500/465 NE

Could be, not an expert on the Indian export/import laws. In most cases it is simply easier to rent weapons in Africa. I believe someone on this forum followed that route.

neither has any long gun then, i meant it when i said that anything you can do with a 30-06, can be done with a 375 H&H.

it might be easier to rent a gun when you are there, but then you have a completly new gun in your hands that you have not practised with at all, which is the worst solution of any, especially if you are going for dangerous game.

i amnot trying to pick a fight here but where does the "The gun still has no practical purpose in India" come from, i just dont see the merit in that kind of statment, so please enlighten me
