If you quote a story, you should present the link that it came from. I know you mentioned "a blogger" but you should point to a link.
Also if you are quoting someone else's words, you should put them in quotes.Otherwise it appears that you are trying to pass it off as your own work. That is generally called plagiarism.
Also quoting facts, especially figures without attribution will generally cause people to not believe what you are trying to say because anyone can make up statistics.
