Who is NAGRI

Post by mundaire » Fri Apr 01, 2011 3:48 pm

Who constitutes the membership of NAGRI (National Association for Gun Rights India)? Here are some answers:

56.32% are Arms License holders - a few may have chosen not to share their arms license details as this is an optional field in the (application) form, so the actual figure may be slightly higher.

The Average Age of NAGRI members is 40.63 years

93.51% of members are Male out of which 57.41% of all male members are Arms License holders

6.49% of members are Female out of which 40.54% of all female members are Arms License holders

The region-wise break up of membership is as follows:

North India: 38.77% of total
South India: 31.58% of total
Central India: 11.58% of total
East India: 8.95% of total
West India: 9.12% of total

State with maximum members - Kerala which alone accounts for 18.42% of NAGRI membership

Good to see that 62.75% of East India are from Assam. I'm shocked that Nagaland has only 9.80% I always thought (Most people here in my place too) Nagas are more interested in guns than Assamese. Still it's a good thing. BTW I feel sorry for those liberal folks in Manipur, Orrisa, Tripura and Mizoram, they have nothing to defend in case of zombie invasion lol :D
P.S: I'm eagerly waiting for my 18th birthday :)
When I'll get to shoot a gun?

Very Interesting Abhijeet.

Kerela with the maximum number of NAGRI members comes as a pleasant surprise.Probably because of the maximum literacy rate.Well done KERELA.
Just remembered Bob Marley's famous number
"Get up,stand up. Stand up for your rights.
Get up, stand up . Don't give up the fight."

I wonder which state has the maximum number of weapons(legal) in India?

Was also surprised to see a low number of membership from a particular state in central India where the law and order situation was rather pathetic till very recently.

Figures are based on forms received till 15-03-2011, either the application form was received after this date OR it has not been received by us at all.

Now that the database has been cleaned up, individual acknowledgements & membership numbers will be sent by early next week to all NAGRI members.

There have been constant problems with couriers being returned/ not reaching our current NAGRI address. Hence for the address for correspondence is being changed, this will be soon updated on the form/ NAGRI website etc.

The total membership figures are so shameful that we have not put out absolute numbers, just let everyone know the percentages.

States Like Kerala, Chhattisgarh, Rajasthan, Assam, Maharashtra etc. which have a high percentage within their respective regions have done well on the membership drive because of INDIVIDUAL EFFORTS of a few dedicated NAGRI members from those states. These are gentlemen who have taken the time & trouble to educate as many individuals as they have come across and signed up a good number on their own, some have also gone to Arms & Ammunition Dealers educated them and asked them to further educate their customers.

So gents, I once again reiterate what Capt Rakshit had said on his thread (wi reg. to NAGRI memberships) - unless we ALL make an effort, we won't get anywhere.

DO NOT think that your educating a few people & getting a few more members will not make any difference - IT CAN and trust me IT WILL.

Even God helps those that help themselves, so let all Indian gun owners begin the process of helping themselves - make NAGRI a bigger & stronger organisation. A truly representative organisation with the widest footprint possible!
