Role of MRO

Hello all,
I have applied for arms license. I'd like to know what is the role of MRO in that. To be clear, what does he enquire about and what does he submit with relevance to my application ? Or that is just a formality to pass the file through him. Hope some one would clarify this.

the mro will enquire the same points as the police,because he will get the same questions as the police does..Once the file reaches the mro office,the revenue inspector,who is the reporting officer,will give a enqiry report to the mro,who will then sign and forward the file to the rdo..The rdo,in turn will make a new report,stating what the mro has given,and attaching the mro report will forward it to the DM office..At the DM office,only after both reports,i.e..the police superintendent and the rdo reports have come will the file go to the DM for grant or refusal of licence..
