Came across this picture while going through my very old 'First annual Knives '81' book. This book has been with me since 1981 so I guess I was looking at these pictures since the age of ten. The new Gerber backup guardian also happened to be the first tactical knife I owned.

Yup, did EDC the Backup Guardian for some time but love that knife too much so now its safe in the drawer . Now I prefer to EDC the Spyderco Endura4 or the Spyderco Dragonfly as they are folders and not fixed blades.
Another observation about the Back up Guardian is that its sheath is awesome. It has these sliders on both sides that control how firmly the blade is held within.
