Hi to All,
I will appreciate your help to guide how to obtain license in UP. Actually my father had .22 & 12 bore unfortunately after him we got both arms deposited in Maalkhana, since I was minor later on we got license for my mother only for DBBL but .22 still in maalkhana and we lost receipt etc.
My query: I would like to transfer the DBBL into my name, secondly would also like to retain .22.
Please guide.
Thanks & regards,

Re: Help how to obtain license in UP
Either locate the original receipt or contact the maalkhana as to what is the procedure to be followed if the original receipt is lost. Most probably they will ask you to lodge general diary about lost of receipt with police and come with its copy and proof of identity, residence etc.but .22 still in maalkhana and we lost receipt etc.
Obtain NPB Shotgun license under family heirloom. Once you get it, get the firearm transferred to your license by following the applicable rules under Arms Rules 1962.My query: I would like to transfer the DBBL into my name,
One you ascertain the procedure to be followed for lost receipt, get NPB Rifle endorsed on your same license or apply for another NPB Rifle license. Once you get .22 released from maalkhana get it endorsed on your license.secondly would also like to retain .22.
If for some reason licensing authority says second firearm license cannot be issued etc., you may show him the following judgment of Hon'ble Allahabad High Court http://indiansforguns.com/viewtopic.php ... 89#p113930
You may also find the following judgment of Hon'ble Allahabad High Court useful while obtaining your first firearm license http://indiansforguns.com/viewtopic.php ... 32&start=0

Re: Help how to obtain license in UP
Thanks dr.jayakumar & goodboy_mentor really good information.
dr.jayakumar I had done that procedure earlier (1994-95) and enquiry did not move from PS to SSP office and UP government keep falling that time I also did not follow-up. I will go through posts.
Appreciate goodboy's comments what should I do to get license under heirloom.
My situation is little difficult we have moved our resident and I am not residing either place. Is there anyway around because time is big factor.
Thanks for information.

You may try finding the present status of that application. If you think that license application is not going to move by verbal reminders, you may try doing an RTI application to "know" the status of your application. A sample RTI application is available at http://indiansforguns.com/viewtopic.php ... 26&start=0I had done that procedure earlier (1994-95) and enquiry did not move from PS to SSP office
Please get the present address on license of your mother updated. Either chase and update the address on your old license application and see the application reaches its logical destination or apply afresh from your present location, mentioning all the facts as asked in the new application form.My situation is little difficult we have moved our resident and I am not residing either place.
No there isn't any left because people never knew and fought that Right to Keep and Bear Arms is a fundamental right under Articles 19 and 21 of Constitution of India(I have tried to explain this at http://indiansforguns.com/viewtopic.php ... 15#p129992). Instead people have always been looking for "workarounds" to get their own applications done, therefore now we have reached such a situation that every "workaround" has been plugged. Is there anyway around because time is big factor.
