Hi
In the last post http://indiansforguns.com/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=12320 we talked a bit about standing. Today lets fine tune ourselves.
The goal of a shooter is that his position should be so stable that when he lifts his rifle and points it towards the target the bull’s eye should be in the sight and all he has to do is squeeze the trigger. This is achievable. The steps given under are based on my best understanding of the book “Ways of the rifle”.
These are basic steps for each shooter there will be a lot of customization for example based on height how far apart should the legs be?
Everything starts from step 1. So let’s talk about it here (for a right handed shooter)
1. The head is placed using the cheek bone on the cheek plate and the eye can see through the rear sight
2. Right shoulder is relaxed and dropped
3. Right hand is on the grip
4. Upper boy is leaned back and breath in and out to relax the muscle
5. Hips are pushed towards the target
6. Right leg is spread and taking 10-15% of the weight. The knee is pulled back a little
7. Right foot is used for height orientation pull it back to increase rifle height and forward to reduce the height of the rifle.
8. Right foot is used for horizontal orientation, slide it in direction opposite to the target to come in line
9. Left shoulder is dropped, fore arm vertical resting on rib cage. This is the ultimate point for minute adjustment.
10. Pelvic is pushed towards target
Now don’t move except for your left and right arm when releasing the rifle. Stand in this position 45 minutes straight and take the rifle and look through it. Every time without moving you should be able to see the bulls eye without any movement.

Re: Air Rifle Shooting : Standing - Fine tuning yourself
I don't know if it happens to everyone or just me. I sorta hear my heart beat and following every "thud" my body experiences a tremor. It does not happen at all times, but as I continue "sinking" in I experience it, while breathing in, holding the breath in or exhaling. Wonder if it will affect the aim - I mean even an mm off here would bring it off to 8th or 7th rings there, right ? Other thing I experience sometimes is total loss of focus - not just of the target/ rear sight/ front sight. Any idea why ?

[gverma] - wear thicker inners, and trigger glove
It does not happen at all times, but as I continue "sinking" in I experience it, while breathing in, holding the breath in or exhaling.
[gverma] - This happens if you have held the rifle too long conentrating and not taken the shot. The bets thing to do is cancle the shot.

[gverma] - Yes it will

[gverma]- too tired because of your kit. Take a break between shots.
